Credit too TowersStreet below but does anyone else think, this looks absolutely awful? This tin shed arcade has no place in a high end theme park. Who is even responsible for this shabby refurb? I’m really disappointed in the park to be honest and slightly embarrassed for them. Colours hideous!

Don’t have a problem with it, it’s better than nothing.

It serves it’s purpose.

I just don't see the point in it. If it were themed to an X-Sector training facility or something, it could be kinda cool. Maybe even an X-Sector security checkpoint. I just don't see the point in an un-themed arcade filled with dated, expensive games in a supposed high-end theme park in 2020.

Exactly my point also that’s actually a great idea!

Yep the fact it is called Games BUNKER on the outside, but then on the inside is themed to generic seaside pier amusements, is not good.

The games are still popular and played so don't seem dated if people want to play them. I personally LOVE 2p pushers, but usually just go to the Mutiny Bay arcade.

It’s amazing how some have high expectations, you know nothing of substance can happen unless they can get a marketing angle out it.

It’s a functional arcade it’s not going to attract 20,000 visitors a day in there.

When you look at the theming for Wickerman, and then look at this early 90s teenage boy bedroom carpet it makes me wonder why no one said “that looks naff, make it look better”

Here are some photos of the rethemed Bugbie-Go-Round in CBeebies Land:

I think it looks really nice; very vibrant and colourful!

Out of interest, how come they rethemed it? Are the Numtums not shown on CBeebies anymore, as they were when my 7 year old cousin last watched CBeebies?

My daughter is almost 2, and they’ve not been on for her whole life

Saying that, it’s by far her favourite ride in the area!

Yes on a positive note, I prefer the new colours too and theming for this ride a lot more! Than what’s on the old pic below. This looks great for the kids. The adults on the other hand in X Sector........well

Does anyone else feel X Sector needs a complete refresh with futuristic theming? It looks so dull & old now. The style isn’t really that futuristic anymore. The smiler needs a complete paint job, not just the track either. Also the Que line re-imagined. Or even the inner section completely changed. The projectors just need to go, they don’t work in there & could be used better elsewhere. They could make it into a more fun house/crazy section/lighter etc. Oblivion tunnel and surroundings needs scrubbing with futuristic orange lights added. The que line is just dated, the inner section with blocked windows looks so dated now. They just need to lose the concrete look they went for back then. Always look grimy & old. Needs a lot of paint, lights & a more colourful futuristic flooring. Maybe loose the traditional block pathing in that area. Finish the area off with a new modern submission replacement & some better theming. Oh and maybe loose the tin shed for games? When was the area last updated, does anyone know?

I have said it before, the themes around AT suck. I know they havent got the budget of Disney or Universal but none of the areas look well themed. Some of the rides to (Wickerman, Nemesis) but the areas of the park look crap.

You could do so much with the areas and really make them immersive, but as with much of merlin, they do the bare minimum and take the line of "Be thankful we did this"

Unfortunately that appears more apparent as time goes on. I mean the amount of money they make anyway. Why are we still having these budget cuts. Anyway that’s another argument for another topic. We’re just be grateful

On a side note I do think forbidden valley is the most complete and successful area. There’s nothing I would do there apart from add a flat ride in ripsaw spot. Oh and find a way too add the red dye too the nemesis rivers again. Spend as much money as it needs to compete the circuit or find a way like the “TLC” team gave us false hope for safer dyes. It’s important and adds too the overall magic. The station looks great and the track. Just please finish it, I was hoping for the anniversary they would do this. Never mind

^ Forbidden Valley is terribly themed.

- Ripsaw, Blade present huge gaps in the line-up
- NST looks utterly awful, especially SBNO.
- Galactica / Air isn't even themed consistently with itself, let alone the area
- The arcade is tacky
- Nemesis pit looks more run down each year, made worse by the absence of red dye
