Phantasialand: General Discussion

It seems the paint job is finished now, and the way they’ve blended it in to the office block is even worse:

That's weird. I understand the reason for the paint job … but not sure I get why someone thought the spotty transition was a good idea. Looks bizarre.

But as I said in my last post its cheap on purpose. Its the classic PHL case of a low budget job as a short term cover; so it doesn't stand in direct contrast with the hotel entry portal. The removal of those offices have been referenced in the many expansion proposals over the past 2 decades; and since they are still very much pursuing the expansion they are hoping to get rid of that building as soon as they can. Thus the simple paint job compared to the Universal Rocks theming used inside the area and actual Corten Steel used on that hotel entry portal.
Significant investments are saved for long term developments (their new rides and areas, and the refurbishments of/additional theming for Black Mamba and River Quest in recent years), while short term stuff they plan to get rid of sees minimal investment, presumably that strategy has played a decent role in them being able to spend so much on the quality of new rides. It undeniably leaves a quality gap between parts of the park but one management clearly sees as a necessary sacrifice for their future planning.

There's a quality sacrifice and that. There's no quality in that, it's not a sacrifice, it's an eyesore

Imagine going to these lengths for a flyer too. Okay before I'm shouted down it's a new version of a flyer but how different will it be really? They are pretty forgettable rides in general. Never got off one and thought right I must run back around and ride again. Never.

Do these offices actually get seen from inside the park ?

To be honest yes it looks meh but at least they tried something, unlike a certain park operator close to home

If that's the external entrance for the hotel from outside the park, where's the drop off area and / or carpark?
Its presumed that the car park opposite the Berlin entrance (currently only used by staff, Fantissima guests and overflow on extremely busy days) will be used for the new hotel. But nothing officially confirmed yet.
