Anyone watch this? I've been following it from the beginning and the latest season is possibly better than Breaking Bad.

The latest episode was the most tense hour of TV I've ever seen.

I think it's the best thing on TV at the moment, and hugely underrated. I know that the first season was a bit wobbly, and it's simply not as bombastic as Breaking Bad, which I imagine meant it lost a lot of viewers. But the writing is so good, each character is deeply fleshed out and the way it's been building (admittedly, sometimes very slowly) is something to behold. I don't think I've ever been so invested in a show in which we know the ultimate fates of half the cast.

Yep, I know a lot of people who didn't stick around past the first few episodes. But those who did have definitely been rewarded.

The building sense of dread knowing that a few of these brilliant characters were not in BB certainly adds to it.

Yes, I've watched this from the start too. It's a very good show, although I do prefer Breaking Bad overall. Without giving away spoilers I can't wait to find out what happens with Kim. Also I really enjoy the little snippets featuring Gene which give us a glimpse of life after BB. Once Better Call Saul is finished they could probably do a whole sequel to BB featuring Gene and others.

Love the show and I think it has gone from strength to strength throughout (despite the character I considered most interesting about the show initially having been written out). The overlapping storylines are fantastic and there isn't a weak link among them; as above, I am especially interested to find out what happens to Kim (and Nacho!)

I hate the fact that it's a weekly installment though. I'd much rather binge a show like this and I always find myself much more engrossed in a storyline when I can watch couple episodes either back to back or over a series of evenings. I find it very odd that Netflix have taken this approach for the show whereas the likes of Ozark "drops" in one go.

I think it might be broadcast weekly in the states on AMC. If so, that is why it is dropped on Netflix on a weekly basis. It would be great to binge watch, but at least this way we have something else to look forward to each week!

I couldn't finish the 1st Season, very boring, doesn't even touch Breaking Bad.

I think it’s unfair to call the program that’s now on its 5th season “very boring” when you’ve only watch a few episodes.

The current season is getting very interesting now there are more Breaking Bad crossovers. My only worry is all the actors are getting older considering it’s a prequel.

Might just be me but I found a lot of the early Breaking Bad episodes a bit dull too.

But in both cases it's a case of developing the characters so that you know and care about them once the action kicks in.

Give it another shot, I'd say.

It is brilliant. I have watched this from the start. Back in 2015 or so.

I think one of the great things about the writing in this, is that we already know where Saul ends up from his actions in Breaking Bad. So the suspense of not knowing what is going to happen is immediately gone, the suspense that would usually be there in a character in a normal non prequel show. But the side effect of knowing this is that by knowing where he ends up, it makes the story and his journey to get there just so much more compelling and interesting to watch. It is a truly a masterpiece of modern writing.

This show even touched on to where he ends up after the events of Breaking Bad. When he is working in the fast food joint in the mall. Further adding fuel to the fire of watching him slide downwards. I also have to agree on this season being the best yet. Really good to watch.

FYI, the show is not broadcast weekly on AMC in the states as far as I am aware. It is a Netflix exclusive so only airs via there.

On a side note, has anyone seen Ozarks? I have just got into that. Again, absolutely brilliant. Not upto the same level as Better Call Saul, but a great watch non the less.

Yes, I'm watching Ozark. I'm halfway through season 3 and agree that it's brilliant. It's one of my favourite shows right now.

Regarding Better Call Saul, just checked the AMC website and it does air weekly on Monday nights at 9.00pm ET. Guess that explains why we get each episode the following day on Tuesday. Next episode is the season finale. From what I understand they will be doing one more season and that will be it.

Do you think this is where they will go with the show once it’s fully caught up to Breaking Bad?

Am I right in thinking there isn't a huge gap between seasons? They seem to come around quite quickly. Makes sense that there is only one more season because the bloke who plays Mike is aging like a Banana.

Who remembers the mid season break for season 5 of Breaking Bad? Pretty sure it was Hank sitting on the bog and sussing out Walt was Heisenberg, and then bang... A 6 month wait :coldsweat:

Jonathan Banks is 73 now.

Robert Forster who played Ed Galbraith, the vaccum salesman disappearer died last October.
There goes my theory for Kim 'disappearing' then. Although they could do that without him appearing in a scene I guess.
