Flamingo Land: General Discussion

Tornado is not a pretty rollercoaster and apparently it used to be so rough that it had to have an inversion removed. I wonder did flamingo have any rough coasters because they've had a lot. I wouldn't Hero rough, just extremely painful.

I would call it rough, there is a point on the ride where as the train passes it jolts that’s hard the entire surrounding structure shakes dramatically.

I still don't understand why it gets the level of hate it does. There are FAR worse coasters out there. Most SLCs, for example!
Sorry that I know little but does it have the new vest OTSR? Having that would improve it immensely, maybe even shake off that reputation for good.

Indeed, it had a Corkscrew that was so rough it was removed, the POV from 1999 shows it. Notice the moment when the ride enters the corkscrew that it is so rough the video footage can't take it!:tearsofjoy:

Don't forget the cameras back then were very basic, and not as advanced as they are now. Modern cameras would be able to handle it. :p

Back to Flamingo Land now. Does anyone know why Flamingo Land decided to sell the Corkscrew rollercoaster which is finally getting replaced this year?

Well. That looked bone shatteringly terrible!
It really is as bad as it looks (without the corkscrew). The two loops are somehow okay but everything else is horrible
Isn't Hero on the old Corkscrew site? I know one ride is but I can't remember which.
Hero was installed where the Wild Mouse previously stood. The new coaster takes up the Corkscrew site and a bit of extra space as well

Then Kumali replaced Magnum Force and The Bullet, Mumbo Jumbo replaced Tidal Wave and Velocity replaced Thunder Mountain!
