Scarefest 2012

There is very little that disturbs me. Very little at all... but I couldn't even finish reading that artcle. O.O

The part where the pictures are described got me, so grim ???

Anyway, I digress. I'm hoping some of those images will link into some of the SW7 theming somewhere along the lines...I just for the life of me can't think how or where.

I would have thought the obvious place to include them would be in queueline videos, Oblivion style. I can see the "marmalisation" video (or something similar) being used in the "trick track" section.... assuming that the theories about that are true.

On park today, minimal queues for all attractions except tott. I cannot explain how much I enjoyed The Sanctuary. Got forced away from my group at the end of the final scene, back into the maze to exclaims of "let's keep the pretty boy back", pinned against the chainlink and told to show my best smile and then run! Truely awesome acting from staff!

Carnival was average, freaky but a bit obvious, more fun that anything. Tott was a little lacking in actors but otherwise as sinister as always. The towers lighting and Parkwide actors looked awesome. Great to see a Sanctuary doctor just strolling through zombies with a massive grin on his face!

Really enjoyable day, only fault is atmosphere lighting let's the rest of the park down, especially nemesis :/

One thing I do like this year is the actors that wonder around the park. I dont know if Towers have done it in the past but they certainly didnt have it last year when I know Thorpe Park did.

Just seeing the doctor and nurses wonder round the park not really talking much and just looking freaky really scared quite a few people. Plus the freaky circus actors outside the carnival/towers street also really add to the maze.

Ahhhh, noticed you lot the other week! Very very impressive, always good to see everyone making an effort and getting into the spirit of the event :D

Is there late entry tickets available as im going to renew my anual pass tomorrow and my dad wants to come but not pay full price as we'd only be going for the evening?

As far as I'm aware, they're only available online so it's a case of checking the website to see if you can buy one :)

We couldn't find them so im guessing they have been scrapped or im not looking hard enough, hes happy now - he decided he would also like an anual pass...

I was just looking through Scarefest videos on YouTube, and came across the full length Trick or Treat Party show and in all honesty is looks like something you'd see in Butlins! It's certainly not fitting for Alton Towers. It's an okay show and well done to the entertainers that do their best to make it a bit more exciting. Although on the whole it's very boring and lacks a lot.

In Fountain Square or Cloud Cuckoo Land I think it would work brilliantly, but at the bottom of Towers Street it looks awful. On Towers Street I'd imagine something bigger and more exciting. The Trick or Treat stage is more suited to being in a smaller area.

It's a shame the original Trick or Treat format never stayed however. The witches back in 2010 were superb and made a lot of use of the stage. This show however does not fit well for me and I think they need to have a look at this in future.

Here's the video below for anyone that wants to watch the whole show.

I didn't watch Trick or Treat Party this year but after seeing the video it is EXACTLY the same as last years! The dancers just have different (is costumes the word? ::) ) outfits on. Last year there was a vampire, witch, werewolf and ghost girl. Nice to see one more step back to hoodies and chinos ::)

Well done Towers ::)

I have just put some photos on the TowersStreet Facebook page of the scarerooms at the Alton Towers hotel. No photos inside the rooms, but just outside and the general theme this year.

It would seem from my visit yesterday that illness is starting to take its toll on the actors, especially with the ridiculously cold weather, meaning some mazes are a bit understaffed or having actors sourced from other roles (such as walkabout and pirates) to fill in.

Props to the Ents team for still putting on a decent show in all the mazes despite this, and hoping everyone gets better soon :D
