I ask the same about Saw, Rita, Nemesis Inferno, The Smiler, Cobra, all have disable lifts fitted, but you are not allowed to ride if you are non ambulant
Regarding The Smiler, a few years ago my partner had knee problems and while she could walk it was only for short distances and she also couldn't stand for long periods of time. So she used a wheelchair while at Towers. At the Smiler, she was asked if she could walk and she said yes (because for the relatively short amount of walking needed in the event of an evacuation she would've been fine) so we used the lift from shop to platform and everything was fine. So there are situations where wheelchair access is needed even for ambulant guests

I'm not sure where said ramp is... could it be for H&S/evacuation procedures, if they required other means to safely evacuate guests?

Just a wild guess.
I'm not sure if this is going to link as it should...
It's to the right of the exit stairs and can be seen with the wooden planks running along the fence, it was added either last year or the year before.

They have been messing around with rap entrances in the last few years, that could be something they planned to use but decided against too late.

OK can I pose this question , one day EVERYONE who visits the park and I mean EVERYONE has a RAP need. I mean these are exceptional times and this is an exceptional day. What happens? ........ Err there is one queue , the RAP queue what would happen then would each customer accept that they all need to be treated the same as EVERYONE is in the same situation.

On a different note overall people and I mean EVERYONE is going to have to accept this has changed everything. This is a new normal and it's not going to change soon . We will all need to socially distance whether is 2m or 1m (as Weatherspoons are pushing for ) and we ALL will have to wait a bit longer whether it is at tesco, McDonald's or Alton Towers this is the new world and we will just have to accept it.
Again, it's not always the length of time spent that's the issue, but the environment waiting/queueing is done in.

The biggest issue for any disabled guest is always the evacuation procedures. Eg if the rapids stopped you could have to climb out at the bottom of the lift, even across some other boats.

Same for most coasters, eg stuck at top of the lifthill you’ll have to walk down the steps of the lift. Many disabled people wouldn’t be able to do that if you have mobility issues.

24 days until riding on coasters in the uk hopefully resumes. With it being just over 3 weeks now I'm sure everyone is ready to get back to towers finally
