Don’t you find it strange that this has happened now? These places haven’t stopped at all, in fact they were busier than ever, Wales was supposedly two weeks behind so in theory locked down at the point most commentators said the U.K. should of yet still is getting these big flare ups but not England?
At this point in the cycle lockdown doesn’t work, test and trace does.

Not really, it only takes one person to introduce it and this is the result! No one is claiming the virus is not out in the wild now, it is, and these flair ups will happen. Which is why places like theme parks need to take proper measures and not pay lip service to prevention (I think they currently are, and need to do more), and everyone should stay alert and sensible, which on the whole they are.

Your right I do, when your paying 500 notes each month to keep a very expensive toy in a marina in North Wales and some jumped up grandpa is playing politics with your access to it forgive me for getting a little wide about it.
That's the worst reason I've heard yet for easing lockdown restrictions. I'm sorry that the Welsh government are putting people's lives ahead of your property.

You have just basically summed up some people’s reaction to this lockdown in the whole of the uk. It’s a me me me situation to you, you dont seem to care about the situation or how it’s affecting people. All you care about is the fact it’s affecting you. Well I’m sorry that our government tried its best to contain it but it’s happened now.

If anything, as suggested by a work collegue of mine, who lives in Wales, the harsher restrictions in wales are more about keeping the English away from their tourist hotspots than having any concern for the peasants. This is coming from a born and bread Welsh man.
They also tend to follow the English restrictions (or lack of) anyway, as they know there is no enforcement. They know they most likely not get stopped if they dare to venture more than 5 miles from their house, but anyone travelling in a car or on a bike that flags up as being registered in England and is more than a few miles from the border is fair game.

Having only been to Wales a few times, you'll know the situation better than me. But keeping anyone (not just the English) away from beauty spots is probably a wise move just now! They'll want to avoid the crowds like at Durdle Door and everyone flocking to climb Snowden again.

It’s been said from the start of the 5 Mile rule it’s to keep the infection at bay and not spread it far and wide. So it’s not just stopping English tourists it’s stopping welsh tourists and Irish tourists etc. The intentions was good and it worked in affect.

The 5-mile rule is apparently going from 6th July in order to encourage tourism, according to Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford, so that should be interesting!

Indeed, I have no issues with that whatsoever, as Snowdonia would be rammed, as people can't use common sense and think, oh it will probably be busy, lets figure out somewhere we can go that no many people know about.

I agree with what my collegue says though, and the welfare of us mere Peasants is certainly not the main driver in their harsher laws

Problem is, whenever these beauty spots do eventually open, they will be crowded anyway!

Postponing the inevitable!

Of course, though it's probably best to wait until fewer people have the virus first.

Smart phones have now updated to include covid 19 contact tracing. To find out more on Android phones go to settings>Google Settings and I think it's under health on Iphones.

The system only currently works if you have Bluetooth enabled meaning that in order to be of use everyone would need Bluetooth on which could then cause other security issues.

No not the worst excuse, that would be opening theme parks so I could ride rollercoasters... ;)

When you have worked hard for the last 29 years building a business and then spent a lifetimes earnings on your hobby I don’t need to apologise for being selfish, we are all selfish in our own ways, I do things for charities and have contributed a lot of tax so I’m not all bad.

I will go back to my original point pages and pages ago you have a 0.01% chance of dying of this unless you are over 65 or already ill, so for the different administrations in the UK to use it as an excuse to being different for different sake is a political decision and hasn’t made a jot difference to the overall figures, in fact if you look at Wales they have made it worse.
We are either one UK or we aren’t, I’m happy for Wales and Scotland to be independent, they can pay for themselves then, but at the minute they are having their cake and eating it.

Am I the only one not bothered about shops open or even pubs and restaurants? Shops open in Wales today and I have no interest whatsoever. I recognise of course that there will be people that value things like this to get out of being stuck inside for months.

I'm more keen on tourism opening back up, and want to see 'social bubbles' expand to allow for close friends or family.

I imagine government will have to allow for other households to meet in pubs and restaurants as that will be the primary drive for people wanting to visit these types of businesses.

I'd imagine that they are going to have to try and allow that, yes, even if it means try to get people who are meeting up to stay 1m apart. It is by far the riskiest relaxation so far, hopefully it does not lead to a significant increase in infections but I do still worry that our case numbers are not as low as they ideally should be. Also how is it going to work for areas where there are local outbreaks? I live in Leicestershire and there is a small 'outbreak' (i.e. increase in cases but numbers still quite low) in a part of the city of Leicester. If measures are relaxed whilst numbers continue to increase in these areas then it is not going to make matters any better!

I have seen in a few places a %risk for 2m and 1m distancing.
3% risk at 2m
13% risk at 1m
I can't find official government figures to support this.

The easing of restrictions has been a bit odd for me. Going from wearing PPE to support my mum, to myself, (no so) @LittleDelta and my wife. Walking in sitting down and having a fairly normal visiting.

Sometimes i get a panicked feeling i should be wearing PPE. As it over the weeks it became the 'norm'.
