From BPB website:

“We're delighted to announce we can now reopen on the 4th July 2020. Platinum pass holders have the option to retain their 2020 season pass, and receive a 40% discount off a 2021 season pass, based on the price they paid. i.e if you paid £100 your 2021 season pass will be £60.

Alternatively, Platinum pass holders can choose to defer their season pass, meaning they can visit every day of the 2021 season, and any visits you had this year are on us. To do this go to My Account, when you login with the email you used to purchase your pass, you will have the option to defer your season pass. Within any booking, you can choose to defer all, or only some of the season passes purchased.

If you are retaining your 2020 Platinum pass, you will need to book your visit in advance via eticket.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com. You will only be able to book for any date within the next 7 days, which will constantly update with each day that passes. Once you have booked, you will receive your eTicket which you can scan at Noahs Ark on arrival. If you choose to book a 2020 date, this will automatically count as a choice to retain your season pass and you will not be able to defer. Please note, action will be taken against any season pass holders who do not turn up for a pre booked date. Please be mindful and respectful that we are operating to capped attandances and give others the opportunity to visit if you cannot.

All Diamond Pass holders will automatically be deferred to the 2021 season.”

I think that’s a very fair offer for those who keep their current season pass, they will get a 40% discount off next years pass based on what they paid this season.

I am not sure what to make of this though:

Action will be taken?! What sort of action? You may book in then be unwell on the day or it’s poor weather and you decide not to go. I get that numbers are capped but not sure about punishing pass holders who book then genuinely can’t go on the day

So the GP can book in now for opening weekend but season pass holders can’t as its over 7 days off. I get that they are desperate to take some money in, but depending on numbers, days could be booked up thus pass holders are turned away. Something wrong there

My guess is you’d need to do it repeatedly before action is taken. One no show could be illness, but booking 20 dates and turning up for 2 isn’t right.

Got a season pass for 2020 but haven't visited this year yet so not have a physical card made. Does that mean I need to get to BPB, get one issued and the book online for another day?... (unless they still have capacity on that day?...)

Is this finally going to be the end of the wrist band and pay per ride? I'm hoping after all this finishes they will just design a system where you just scan you season pass to get in at the gate and then its done.

Unfortunately I don’t see this as an end to the wristband system. They clearly stated that all diamond pass holders which is just entry to the park will be automatically moved to 2021.

Fair point. Surely there can't be that many of those on the Diamond Pass. Just give them a refund or a full pass next year to end the wrist bands once and for all.

Even after this situation is over the last thing any business wants to do is annoy the customers who give them money. I have no idea how many people actually have a diamond pass but I could be around but I’m sure I saw somewhere that residents of Blackpool get a large discount for the walk around tickets.

Better make the most of it while it lasts.

With those idiot Liverpool fans celebrating in the street and the illegal street parties in London, we will be back to square one with coronovirus before we know it.

It never ceases to amaze me how thick and selfish most of the general public are.

I think it's too early to call it, they have a situation where a new way of working has been forced upon them and the proof of the pudding will be very much in the eating. It's a chance to test and reflect.

Think how many companies would never have trusted their workforce to operate from home four months ago, who are now looking their soulless office as a very expensive white elephant.

What are people's views in general on Big Blue? We've cancelled our September holiday to Majorca and trying to fill up the 10 days with fun activities - including a trip to plesh. Never stayed at Big Blue, but midweek during term time it's cheapest I've ever seen it so thinking to give it a go

I’ve stayed the once probably about 6/7 years back now and it was perfectly pleasant. Obviously you don’t want to go expecting a themed resort hotel, but as a regular hotel I would say it was well finished and comfortable.

Given how hit and miss the Blackpool accommodation market can be I’d say it serves as a good “safe bet” if you’re looking for something with a bit extra versus a Premier Inn, though for me the price would always be the deciding factor as to wether or not I’d stop there. I probably wouldn’t want to spend more than say £100-£120 (£50-£60pppn) for a double room per night B&B, unless it was a special occasion.

Just booked for the first sunday...bit of a faff.
Had to take my picture...on my tablet.
Beach turned the camera on by moonbeams, scary.
Didnt know I had a picture file...where did those ride parts come from?
Never taken pictures on it before when sober.
Or I would remember.
Probably.
