Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Thorpe Breaks updated at some point yesterday, so I suspect it hasn't filtered through to Thorpe's sales team yet.

Notably Thorpe were selling Jungle Escape tickets last year for dates after they publicly stated it had ended for the season, so it's pretty usual for Accesso to be inaccurate at Thorpe.

I see there's no word on booking dinner at the new Infinity Bar and Restaurant yet. Got breakfast reserved but there's no option yet, hopefully this will be sorted soon.

Towers have said booking for breakfast and dinner is currently unavailable whilst they sort out social distancing and time slots, and they’ll be emailing anyone with a hotel stay when it’s sorted. I imagine Thorpe might be the same.

Intriguingly, it would appear Thorpe have decided to add Oktoberfest to their lineup too. Seems to be matching roughly the Towers date.

I wonder how much will be common between the two events?

Considering towers Ents had some role in creak freak (and alton staff were seen on the island during FRIGHT NIGHTS) quite a lot I bet.

I can already tell you which will be better, Towers. Thorpe will be the usual mess that they manage with events, looks good on paper but poor execution.

Seems that Thorpe are using Fastrack if you already bought before they stopped selling

https://www.thorpepark.com/about-th...th-march-and-the-3rd-july-what-are-my-options

Fastrack - If you have pre-booked Fastrack bundles for use between and 27th March and the 3rd July, your Fastrack will be valid for use on any date during the 2020 season (excluding FRIGHT NIGHTS and any pre-advertised closed dates as outlined on our website). You can therefore use this on the date you re-book your main entry ticket for.

If you purchased Exhilarate and Adrenaline Fastrack please follow the instructions from your original purchase. For Island Unlimited you will be able to collect this on the day of your visit from the Island Ticket Centre

Looking at the update to the Thorpe Park app, it appears the following will be closed when the park re-opens:

Derren Brown
The Walking Dead
Tidal Wave
Rumba Rapids
Storm Surge
Depth Charge
4D Cinema
Lumber Jump
Rocky Express
Tug Boat
Rush

So, that’s a lot.

Weird that all the water rides are closed. Wonder why that is, know other parks aren’t following suit there...

I mentioned that on the how will theme parks adapt topic. Some of these surprise me:
Alton Towers has Heave Ho open so why can't Timber Tug Boat open?
Alton Towers has Congo River Rapids open so why can't Rumba Rapids open?

I doubt they'll all be closed, that's half of the park, it's probably just a problem with the app. Yes some of those will be closed but not all.

@siralgenon makes a good point; the app could just be having a few issues. I’ve seen times where Spinball Whizzer was the only ride in the Thrill section on RideTimes; I don’t think IT issues would be a new thing for an app like this to experience, unfortunately. We’ll have to wait and see what Thorpe says themselves...

Spinball is generally the only thrill ride open during the Christmas Event

Following a fairly popular library for park queue times over the last few years it seems merlin have been moving all their parks onto one shared system.
So a lot of the bugs we used to only see at one park will either not happen or will happen at them all.

Apparently Rush has been having hydraulic issues, hence why it's closed. Also, someone told me it shares the same power supply with Slammer, which would explain why Slammer is still SBNO and not removed. Could we see both removed if Rush's issues are too expensive to fix?
