Because they are planning for future loosing of the rules. It's to cover themselfs for the future.

That seems a bit far fetched. It seems unlikely that there will be any change to the social distancing requirements that come into place tomorrow for a very, very long time.

I didn't say they'll be any time soon, more the park is covering a hypothetical scenario in stating the rule for TH13TEEN in advance.

Exactly as has been pointed out, if Th13teen is planned to be closed because of covid measures, why does it state online:

Guests over the age of 6 will be required to wear a face mask on the following rides:

  • Nemesis, Galactica, Oblivion, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita, TH13TEEN, Enterprise, Blade, Runaway Mine Train, Marauder’s Mayhem

My guess would be they are hoping to get it open when they feel more confident about seating people closer together. Masks are required to lessen the risk of droplets when screaming/shouting so it applies to all rollercoasters, so no harm putting the warning ready for when it does open.

Whatever happens, it does seem unfortunate and unprofessional that we are less than 24 hours from opening and still waiting on confirmation of which attractions will be closed.

Of course these are turbulent times but a single day of notice doesn't seem like a huge ask.

Are they really claiming there's no rides a solo rider can't ride?

(If anyone knows how to do spoiler tags on mobile please let me know)

Them: Hi there, we do not have a single rider option at the moment.
Me: What about single riders going via main queue, are there any rides they wouldn't be able to ride?
Me: So any idea about restrictions on people going by themselves and queuing up in main queue? Are there any rides they wouldn't be able to ride?
Them: Hi Gregory, single riders will be able to ride - they will just need to be seated according to social distancing regulations. - Kristie
Me: Great!

I don't expect single riders to be denied access to anything.

Thirteen's minimum passenger requirement is an issue regardless - assuming the plan is for groups of friends from different households to not sit adjacent then there's no chance of getting 18 per train even before you think about single riders taking a row for themselves.

I'm thinking spinball might be an issue

When the original 2m distance was being re-assessed the park did say bringing it down to 1m would mean they could fill all seats on Wickerman versus only 6 seats with 2m rule.

Since then they have released videos and pictures clearly showing empty seats/rows between riders meaning they have rowed back slightly on the original message of filling all seats. That would perhaps explain the Th13teen situation.

Regarding single riders, I’m sure you will be able to go on all the rides, they will just configure the guest arrangement in each train relative to the groups they are in. So single riders will be in their own row, probably with empty rows either side of them too.

Edit: Spinball would probably be ok since you will be wearing masks and sitting back to back, that should be enough to allow a single rider to join a group of two sat behind them.

I guess I'll find out tommrow about spinball!

I would like to say to anyone going tomorrow have a fantastic day. Remember this is new for AT so please be kind, give them some flexibility as they are working it all out to. They may have prepared but things will always be thrown into the mix they are not expecting.

It's going to be tense and a big struggle as it is for the staff with covid but I fear for the fallout from the TPWW accusations (see coffee corner forum). Again please assist the staff and try not to inflame any situation.

Our community can be fantastic and I hope tomorrow you guys will represent the community and give each other and the staff the best possible start to a very late season.

Enjoy it, stay strong, enjoy a thrill and stay safe!

Well, tomorrow’s the day! And I can’t quite believe it; so great to be seeing stuff reopen again after such a long period of closure!

To be fair, this is under the assumption that the parks themselves know exactly what is and isn't opening. We know what the government is like for last-minute details - case in point, pubs being told today that they can't open until 6am tomorrow, with many having planned midnight openings*.

There's every possibility that things are still somewhat in flux, and could change.

(* - for the record, I think this was an insane idea for any pub to seriously consider, and very much against the spirit of the new regulations. But many had planned it)
