Galactica: General Discussion

True but if galactica is getting 40-60 min queues and nemesis is getting 20 mins then that's not to do with throughput, that's popularity

Hahahahahahaha, if you can't work out the difference between throughput and popularity, then you're on the wrong forum.

To put into perspective, Galactica these days struggles to get 1000 pph through it, whereas Nemesis on a regular basis gets 1200-1300 pph through it. This is why Galactica has longer queues. It has nothing to do with popularity.

If Galactica staff can't manage more than 35 trains per hour when it should be getting well over 40 no bother then I'd be asking questions ;)

Arguably if you know the queue times and understand the hourly capacity of a ride vs another, you're in a pretty good position to understand the popularity of one against the other, depending on how you define popularity.

I not been on it since the VR been removed but if it’s coming back do u think it should be rethemed again or turned back into Air?
VR coming back?? How in the world can they do that with covid rules? They didn’t exactly clean the headsets when it was open!

Sorry missed out not theses shifts at work cause of the virus has really mucked up my body clock.
I preferred it with VR when I went on it in 2018 as I find Air a boring coaster otherwise but that won’t be happening for many years if it does come back. Merlin have wasted money for to many short term fixers over the last 10 years

I always loved Air, thought it would freak me out with it being the first (and only) ride of its kind I've been on.

Absolutely hated it with VR, the idea of floating about in space freaks me out and I didn't enjoy it at all.

Don't mind the idea of Galactica, like the music and the theming but still call it Air I'm afraid. Can't see them changing all the theming back to be honest.

The theming they added to Air for its transformation into Galactica was good, with the obvious highlight being the portal after the first drop. VR was a proper gimmick, and I still won't forget how my second ride (admittedly with a mild hangover) had the VR slightly skewed to one side, which led to me feeling unwell afterwards. Now, this never normally happens to me on rollercoasters*, and I think it must've skewed my perception of VR on rides.

*Looking at you here, Bandit. Also, that's the only time I've EVER seen @Poisson look unwell after ANY ride.

I prefer it as Galactica. I remember how out of place Air looked in 2002, with uninspiring landscaping and next to no theming (Due to budgets I know) . At least now the area looks fuller & with a better sound track.
