I look forward to the day when Europa Park becomes a resort with a town landlocked in the middle.
Who said you can't have nautical artefacts in a museum? The lobby, corridors and rooms stick to the museum theme successfully. It’s therefore quite jarring that the bar has a nautical/ski lodge theme, as too Bubba Sven’s restaurant. It might not be something a regular visitor could articulate, but the contrast doesn’t feel quite right.
Michael Mack has confirmed at IAAPA European Attractions Show that connectivity to the rest of Europa-Park is an issue for Kronasar/Rulantica and they are working with Mack Rides on a monorail.
He has also said that while the hotel has gone down very well, there are still things to improve with it.
SourceThe new hotel next to "Rulantica", is basically already too small again, which annoys the Macks. Although the adjacent indoor water park was not open at all, the 1300 beds in the "Kronasar" named house were already 93 percent occupied in summer, the businessman calculates - and afterwards states: "We have to think about other hotels relatively quickly."
SourceIt is not that easy to get a room in one of the six hotels in the Europapark. During the season, the four-star establishments on the edge of Germany's largest amusement park are almost always fully booked. Even Thomas Mack, 39, is a little surprised.
Because only last spring the junior manager of the Baden family company opened his youngest house. 1300 beds were added in one fell swoop with the "Kronasar" hotel, which is entirely in the Nordic style. They were almost completely occupied in the first summer. “It will not be the last hotel to be built here,” says entrepreneur Mack. Last but not least, the fact that the graduate hotelier has plans to expand is due to the huge water world that the Mack family opened shortly before Christmas.
Mack says that when the excavators will come back is still open. The only thing that is certain is that it will stay with the Scandinavian style for the next hotel expansion. The slim, sporty man leaves no doubt about further expansion: "Our company has always grown bit by bit."
With each new building, the distances increase. Perhaps, Mack muses, visitors could in the future take boats from house to house. After all, the Macks have never been afraid to go new, unusual ways.
Excellent, and not surprising. Hopefully the next hotel will have more bar capacity for the Rulantica resort area.

I also don't think Rulantica got the reception they anticipated which could also be why the hotel is less popular than expected.Has anyone heard much in the way of an update on the monorail planned between Kronasar and the main park?
Michael Mack suggested that Mack Rides were working on getting something sorted as quickly as possible, but I’ve not heard much more since. It would certainly make a stay at Kronasar a lot more attractive once it’s up and running.
Whilst it does have a lot of rooms, at the moment, Kronasar generally appears to have the best hotel availability, suggesting that it might be the least popular of the resorts. Perhaps because it feels quite disconnected from the main park.
