IMAscore have just announced that they will be renewing the soundtrack for Abattoir Abenteuer Atlantis! I hope they keep the same melody to an extent as I really like its whimsicality. :)

The soundtrack is my least favourite part of the ride. I border on actively disliking it, so quite happy to see this change.

Not sure if it’s got anything to do with the sampling of the Quality Street theme tune.

I am not surprised. It's basically an IMA edit of the original! Obviously I am pleased it has been retained to a point, but I would understand the original composer being aggreived.

Indeed. It reminds me a little of the IMAscore Ghostbusters "composition", where again they basically changed 2 notes in the main melody.

I mean, this does seem to be a change where you ask yourself; BUT WHY!? Gotta love EP spending money for seemingly no reason!

The IMA "you'll know it's us" Score is strong with this one, but I find myself preferring the original.

Is anyone aware of whether some food outlets at EP are on some sort of rotation as to when they are open at the moment? A translated post I saw by the park on social media suggests that Fjord Restaurant does not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Understandable as it helps reduce costs at a time when the park probably isn't too busy anyway.

Unsure but I do know that some outlets are *always* closed off peak anyway.

At the moment, it's probably just that they haven't got all staff back, so give teams 2 days off - such as seems the case with Fjord Restaurant.

WELL. Looopings have reported that there's been a bit of a to-do between Europa-Park and the original composer, Maarten Hartveldt, regarding plagiarism of the music, with it not being changed much at all.
This is weird argument. Surely it must have been EP who asked IMAscore to do an updated version of the original soundtrack rather than a new composition? In which case, it's EP that Hartveldt should take issue with.

Seems unlikely that EP asked for a totally new soundtrack and IMAscore just did this - they must have been commissioned for that...

It seems odd to just change the music to something which is basically the same. If that’s the case why not leave it the same, or get a brand new style?

I can only guess EP wanted the same kind of music but a bit grander? Rather than the older version which was a bit more computerised and fake sounding.

Weirdly grander music doesn't really suit the ride though. It's a cheesey European dark ride at its heart after all, and the soundtrack complimented it while being incredibly catchy.

I'm not a fan of the number of parks unnecessarily changing decent music to IMAScore just because they can.

It could simply be a rights issue. EP may have to pay annually to use the original music. With the new version, that won't be the case.

As far as I am aware, the AA music has never been available as an official soundtrack to purchase or stream?

Nope, I've never managed to find it anyway. The only version that's online is a 30 second edit that was used on an official website I believe.

So here we have it. This all fits together that Europa-Park never owned the music to AA. Strange, considering they do own most of their music - and AA isn't even that old!
