Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

I might be wrong but currently in the park and it seems as though wickerman has been testing. Gone straight to the smiler queue but as walked past sounded like it was testing and there was a train stopped at the top of the lift hill when looked over.

That must mean the tent is off of the track as you would’ve thought they wouldn’t send a train with the track. If it has been testing, then maybe it’ll be open today?

Will update if it does, although with all the people sat watching the queue times. I am sure someone will post quicker anyway!

wickerman seems to have opened

How is it riding for those who've been on today, Is there any difference in the first turn into the structure?

Just been on it, rode really well, has the rattle
you get on CGI wooden coasters. however last went on it in 2018 so can’t comment on any changes. The general overall quality and build quality of wickerman is so much higher than other additions that have been added over the past 15 years
or so years.

Brilliant, can't wait to get back on it next week. I found it hard to believe towers wanted to tame it in any way. Why would they of let John wardley do the alterations to the profiling in the first place if they didn't want it to keep that thrilling edge to it.

Not that this was the case here but In general parks tame coasters for one of 4 reasons:

1) They discover structural fatigue caused by forces above the design limits

2) The ride is running at a speed that results in brake runs unable to bring a train to a full stop.

3) Forces start to exceed the design limits for the safety harnesses.

4) The ride starts to alienate its intended audience.

In the first 3 examples the park doesn't really have a choice.

Didn't notice the mid course trim brake at all today, didn't make the usual noise and no noticeable retardation.

I can assure anyone that the coaster rides the same as before, just as out of control as usual!

There isn’t a trim brake on WM.
Just before a corner before the last section on an uphill section of track - have a look for it if you're on the front of the train, it used to make a racheting noise.

If it's not a trim brake it's a set of teeth that makes contact with the bottom of the train, or it did at least
