Well a few of us were there at the beginning of August, and it's just that there's certain lyrics we like to make up to the tune. I won't repeat them here, as it's not the Tavern, but if you search for long enough on the wiki then I'm sure you'll eventually find something related. :p
The lewd Euro-Mir chants have been going on at least since I first went to EP in the summer of 2012, if not earlier than that. :p

According to a Tweet from Michael Mack, Ringsheim is being added to Deutsche Bahn's high-speed international network (EuroCity Express).

It looks to be that there'll be one stop a day in each direction, with further improvements to be made, and a probable resiting of the station by 2040 to allow for full-length ICE trains to call. Oh, and the station is to be renamed 'Ringsheim/Europa-Park'.

Excellent news! I'm still waiting for a direct service from St Pancras tbh. :p

It’ll certainly be another option when flying from the UK. Flights to Frankfurt are plentiful with it being Lufthansa’s primary hub.

It’ll be interesting to see what the train fares will be.

Frankfurt is already a very viable option, providing you are comfortable with changing trains twice. Utilising the Deutsche Bahn app, you can easily do this though. With flight prices ridiculously cheap to Frankfurt, it's an option I've done a few times. Hiring a car from there is also worth considering too, especially if you want to explore the Black Forest for the day too :)

I’ll have to look at this next time I go. The last two trips have left me with an overnight stay in Basel due to flight times, which as you may know isn’t the cheapest city to visit. Especially if you like a beer or two in the evening.

Good afternoon ;)

I'm glad I got out there this year for the limited time we were allowed to.

A tough one for EP. Do they spend November decking the park out in all of the Christmas decorations in the hope that they can open again in December? Or do they cut their losses and call the season over for this year? I suspect they'll assume that they are able to open sometime in December and therefore decorate the park, not least because they'll no doubt have already ordered the many hundreds/thousands of Christmas trees.

Looking at the numbers in certain countries, I think the season is going to be over.
Maybe a relaxation in rules for Christmas, but otherwise, see you in spring.
Same here, we are just a few weeks behind.

I've cancelled my plans to visit before Christmas, and that's from within Germany. Doesn't feel particularly comfortable or appropriate, even if the park opens. Will get a day trip into Phantasialand in the New Year if the situation has improved, but EP will have to wait until spring and sun. Feels like a lifetime away right now, but we'll get there.

I'm about 99% sure they'll go for opening at the end of the 4 week period. They get the whole of December for the event along with January. Even if they're unable to go for the full scale event, I'm almost certain we'd see something going on.

I would expect today they'll make a decision to start switching around some of the in house closed season work they had planned for January/February into November. That'll give them a possibility of having either a couple of extra weeks at the end of January for something, or more likely to open up earlier next year for the Summer season.

I've started seeing adverts on Linked In for Europa Park's first English Youtube channel. It sounds a bit odd, but it might make more sense once I've watched a bit of it. It's called Going Bananas and seems to have long interviews with Europa Park employees in English.

I haven't watched much of it yet, but it could have a mix of inciteful interviews and some German zaniness:

I wasn’t too sure where to post this, but MACK have attached another spinning carriage to blue fire. This time it’s a two person controlled spinner - which would serve as an upgrade to conventional MACK coasters. Launching backwards looks rather fun!

Embedded it for you :)

Looks cool, although the main issue is obviously capacity as it's half that of the static configuration.

Got to admit, that looks pretty damn awesome! A shame it would reduce capacity so much, as I would love to try it. I fully expect to see some sort of controlled spinning on EP's next major coaster.
