Scarefest 2020

Current Darkest Depths construction;

Looking great so far, and it appears they have kept the preshow, although with Covid restrictions we'll have to wait and see.

Scarefest online tickets have gone up in price by £4. It’s now £38 for a one day ticket to the park.

I'm looking at potentially going Scarefest between the 14th and 16th (before half term).
Would be safe if they do schedule a lockdown for half term.

A fair few guys around the gardens today with lights/lamps and big rolls of cable. Looks like there's a little bit of new lighting going in. Could just be a bit of extra lighting for the gardens in general or may be just temporary for Scarefest. Thought I'd mention it anyway.

I suspect it's for their new walkthrough feature for Scarefest, Garden Lights Walk: Whispering Souls.

Just had a look at maze tickets, Darkest Depths opens from 3pm and the 3 adult mazes open from 2pm. If you get the three maze combo-ticket all 3 mazes must be completed within 90 minutes. I'm sure they opened earlier last year as I did DD at 2pm.

When the 3 mazes were all inside I never had an issue with the ‘all 3 in 90 minutes’ rule. But this year they r gonna struggle to shift the earlier slots due to people wanting to do Toxic junkyard in the dark. When they did the zombies scarezone in that location years ago, it was miles better in the dark than the day. Outdoor mazes really have to be done in the dark to get the full effect.

The mazes opening times on previous years have been 1pm-9pm, I used to do the 1pm slot and get them out the way with no queue.

Just looked at Toxic Junkyard and the gate near X Sector (Scary Tails Entrance) definitely seems to be the entrance as all the theming on that path is front facing...if that makes sense.

I'm unsure as to whether the Toxic Junkyard will have much of a story but it certainly looks interesting. How long is it predicted to be from the length that can be seen in park?

I imagine it will be long enough, it’s got the whole pathway, it uses the left hand side of the goalstriker building, and then also the right hand side where the main part of the maze seems to be, and I guess it will go back and forth on itself a lot looking at what you can see.

It’s in the bottom part of the towers, using the lower areas where the Sanctuary used to be. You queue from x sector in the tunnel to the towers. And enter the maze round the back of the towers, which hasn’t been accessible to the public before. You exit in the door to the towers, which TOTT and sanctuary used to exit back in the day.
