Day 1 - A Day of Coasters!

Just got back to the apartment after day 1 of 2 days at Energylandia, the park was open from 10-6 and was relatively quiet, with 20 minute waits being the biggest across all the coasters.

The day starts off with a brilliant entrance show and music to get you ready for a fun filled day!

I started my day off with a back row ride on Zadra, with a very loose restraint. I’d been waiting for this moment, to ride an RMC for a long time! And boy it didn’t disappoint!... although slower in the morning it still hauls and is something else towards the end of the day, the first drop is incredible, but before you can contemplate what’s happened your slammed into the side of the train with a strong Lateral hill and then what I surprisingly found the weakest part of the ride, the turnaround... I was expecting so much more in terms of intensity from that element, but any disappointment is soon wiped away as you dive back down the coasters second drop, twisting left and right it delivers a strong feeling of sustained floater air, before entering an amazing Zero G Stall, which in a way is a calm moment to catch your breath before you speed round into an insanely whippy wave turn, that give great air towards the front but I found not as much at the back. The ride then enters what I consider the most typical RMC section of the ride, a great variation of a zero g roll sends you into a strong ejector double down and a pop of air on the S bend and flies into the final inversion, and hits the brakes harder than I’d ever imagined. Overall an impressive coaster with a great mix of forces and elements that flow absolutely perfectly.

Hyperion was next on my list and advertised a 10 minute queue. I entered the queue line with lower expectations than Zadra, but it really did deliver to a point where I’m kind of swaying towards Hyperion over Zadra. Once that lift chain starts it wastes no time getting you to the top of the hill and then before you know it your diving down this never ending drop, full of amazing floater air. You then fly into what is probably the best airtime I’ve ever experienced with a huge ejector hill! And then the insanely whippy dive loop is fantastic, especially on the outer seats. You then enter what is the deadest part of the ride being a floater hill, that could really have done with being tighter to give a stronger pop of air. The low to the ground section of the ride is breathtaking too, with snappy transitions, very intense corners and great pops of air into the brakes.

Another coaster highlight of the park is Formula, it has a great little layout, with some nice positive and negative forces throughout, and a nice punchy launch.
Dragon coaster is also a brilliant family coaster with great theming and surprising intense towards the back.

Today was just a day for getting on the coasters for me (Zadra 9, Hyperion 4, formula 2, dragon, Frida and boomerang... oh and Mayan the SLC which is still awful with vest restraints) ,expect more in terms of the overall park experience From my day 2 review, tomorrow. But if it’s coasters you love then this is a great option to visit, it has a good range of family and thrill coasters but could do with another to bridge the gap between.

Hope you enjoy reading Day 1 of my trip review everyone.

Very generous review of Hyperion.
Harsh on Mayan Coaster, smooth and fun.

Good review though. Speed and Monster Attack tomorrow I hope.

What’s covid-19 precautions like? I’m planning a visit next Friday if Poland is still ok to visit without quarantine on return.

Almost non-existent, masks are half arsed and there is literally no social distancing here, if your worried about that then don’t visit. They also sit everyone together, including single riders to fill the trains.

I’ll be posting more about my trip tomorrow, as I’m having a 3rd day on park tomorrow to get some more rides on the coasters, but I will say monster attack really is an experience... total rides on the big two are 22 Zadra and 16 Hyperion (been very lucky with re rides) they open up the fence next to Zadra exit so you can lap it loads in the morning, we had 11 rides before 11am this morning

It's a miracle Poland hasn't been walloped by the virus going by the lack of social distancing when I was there last month.

Hyperion just about edges Zadra IMO due to that incredible airtime hill and better restraints.

Fair play with the 9 rides on Zadra - that's about 10 miles of walking :p

With Poland reporting a record rise in COVID-19 cases for the second straight day yesterday. It’s on track to be added to the UK’s quarantine list next Thursday. With us currently flying out on Wednesday night I’ll have to make the decision fairly soon whether to cancel it as I can’t afford two weeks of quarantine on my return.

You can’t have a high rate if you don’t test people...

The social distancing in Energylandia does not exist. There will not be a single queue you enter that doesn’t have someone uncomfortably closely behind you.

After my 2nd day on the park Hyperion has definitely made it to my new no.1! Front row is something to behold and is the best coaster experience I’ve ever had in my life, Zadra was my first RMC and I belive I hyped it up too much before riding, something I’ll never do again, it’s a fantastic coaster with incredible pacing and transitions but with plenty of bruises on my legs and thighs after riding it, makes it less re-rideable than Hyperion in my opinion. I will say Hyperion is considerably more shakey than Zadra (mostly on the outer seats). also managed to get a few flats and Water rides in on day two. Aztec swing being on I enjoyed, and the little family log flume called jungle run is also a nice little attraction. After joining the queue for speed we decided to rock, paper & scissors for who’s going front... I drew the short straw and boy was it a soaker! Great attraction though and something that would work well in the UK with the summers warming up now.

day 3 came around and I found myself with 5 hours to kill before I had to leave for the airport, so no better way to spend it by getting multiple walk on re-rides on Hyperion and Zadra on a very dead Saturday.

overall this park offers a great experience and fantastic value for money, yes some of the theming makes you wonder what we’re they thinking, but as they move forward they will obviously focus more on themed lands, they just need to go through the middle section of the park and get it up to the standard of some other areas and attractions of the park.

another thing to note, is how great the shows are here! I love the morning show and opening Celebrations, it really makes you smile and pumped for a fun filled day. the stunt show is another fantastic viewing, with fun for all ages.

I could go onto a rant about little things with staff if i wanted to but overall the general consensus is that your are an appreciated customer, and the operations were also steady during my days there. They do have a major issue with staff on phones and walking in dangerous ride areas whist the ride or coaster is operating.

obviously with restrictions it’s going to be hard to plan any trip now, but when the chance arises to visit here, you really must take it.

Surprised following “Pleasure Beach Experience” and their visit this weekend, the park sounds quiet even on a Saturday and Sunday. I had like my trip there last Sept planned another Friday visit to avoid any weekend crowds. But with Poland into the red now I may take a trip over to Blackpool instead next week.
