Theme Park Worldwide

I know Shawn pretty well and he's always come across as a sound, decent guy. I just know that, from experience, when parks start wining and dining you, it becomes a little difficult to provide a publicly balanced opinion. I know Phantasialand are, on the whole, excellent, but it doesn't mean there won't be flaws somewhere in something that they do (I was there in August and wasn't too impressed with a couple of things, not least Covid related). Phantasialand can also be absolute dragons when it comes to how the park is represented online. We were once accosted for taking a photo of a closed Talocan, which was undergoing technical work.

As soon as parks start to effectively give you treats and/or subsidise your visit, you can't exactly turn around and say something negative, can you? Otherwise the park will be wondering why they bother.

That isn't to say that I think Shawn has or hasn't said something he should have, it's just a word of caution and an observation to note as the page moves forward.

That's true. I remember watching his video on Shocktoberfest and thinking it isn't an accurate representation if you're there as 'press' and get to go through the mazes by yourself and have access to a VIP bar etc. I'd been recently when I watched it and would have been totally underwhelmed had I not had the fastpass and practically walked on everything.

I don't know how reviews work generally though. Do film reviewers not get free tickets? Constructive criticism is probably welcome, no? I've heard films the studios know will get slated often don't allow critics early screenings.

I have just had to remove a couple of posts from this topic. As far as this forum is concerned, we have moved on from discussion about any allegations, and this thread is now regarding Theme Park Worldwide as it currently operates.

Thank you.

Completely different to the old one. A shame for anybody who's bought merchandise!

I'm not sure about it personally because I'm so used to the old one, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I actually like the new one but this is obviously going to just be Shawn and Charlotte from now on no one else apart from maybe a few people they meet in America usually! I'll be excited to see what happens!

Well, I eat my own words and I believe I will give TPWW another chance. His content seems pretty good now.

Interesting take from that logo (which I like) he refers to himself as TPW, whereas all of us on here say TPWW. No biggie, just interesting.

I think it looks like him but nothing like Charlotte. I agree that it looks like it’s just gonna be him on his own and with Charlotte if she’s not working. If you read the comments many comment on meeting him/them but not featured on the vlogs.

I like Shawn, but even by the standards of theme park enthusiasm, he is a deeply naff man. This is part of the appeal, of course; he's homely, down-to-earth and so literally fashionless that he could probably be any age between 20 and 50. Unfortunately, that does not render him a master of aesthetics. The logo looks dreadful to me, like something from a school fete, and would be absolutely excruciating if Shawn and Charlotte were to ever
find themselves breaking up.
Seems to be working for him, though! He really has surpassed a niche and become a bonafide public figure now.

I had to check if the ECC were still operating, but I always liked their logo, which is crisp, 'fun' (like coasters should be) and decidedly unwacky.

Shawn doesn't strike me as the sort of person that would be able to keep quiet if something wasn't right with a theme park though.
