Cedar Point: General Discussion

Yes I've heard that SteVe is the best in the world. Would you say this is true? Also have any of you been on zadra and how does it compare? I'm looking forward to see iron gwazi too

I've not been on Zadra but SteVe looks superior to me. It is long and relentless, whereas many other RMCs are relentless but over a tad too quickly.

SteVe is my number 1 coaster (I’ve ridden over 300 across Europe & the US if that helps!). I was absolutely blown away by how relentless and FUN it is!! Husband was completely torn between SteVe and Maverick, and chose Maverick as his number 1 (same stats for him with 300+ coasters, but slightly different creds). I was consistently left breathless by the time we hit the brake run, but still always wanted to get straight back into the queueline!

Other highlights:
Magnum (the weirdest hill crests I’ve ever ridden, had me laughing so hard)
GateKeeper (love those sweeping curves!)
Gemini (surprisingly good fun!)

Only ever visited once a few years ago and SteVe was obviously a huge factor in our decision to go. We went via New York as I went to see some friends who live there for a few days as I used to live in NYC. It's just a shame how bleeding far away it is and difficult to get to from the UK.

I have since learned however that there's a direct non stop flight from Manchester to Toronto which is about 300 and something miles from Cedar Point. So when I next go back (probably be 2024/5 at earliest) we're going to fly via Toronto and hit up Canada's Wonderland too. Would be a real shame to not go since I'd be driving right past it.

We have done that route, works well.

I hope you enjoy yourself @Ethan because it's every enthusiasts bucket list park if they haven't been already! SteVe looks to be so good it's anticipated a lot and is probably my bucket list coaster as it looks insane!

They'll be two different rides I suspect. SteVe is an all out assault on every possible sensation on a coaster, whereas Gwazi looks more for speed and fluid transitions.

The low level run through the structure on Steel Vengeance(!) towards the end is balls to the wall madness, not sure how Iron Gwazi will stack up and feel no desire to speculate.
There are a few good headchopper moments on Iron Gwazi but not many I do agree whereas coasters like SteVe and Untamed are liked more for their structure interactions I guess!

My sister gave me Always Cedar Point for Christmas:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Always-Ced...ords=always+cedar+point&qid=1610464841&sr=8-1

It's a fantasic book with some really interesting stories. For example: to encourage their cleaners to take pride in cleaning the toilets, every year they'd organise a sleep over in the toilets. The cleaners would bring blankets and pillows and sleep in the toilets. I've heard a lot of stories about what it's like to work in different theme parks, but I've never heard of anything like that before.

What looks to be a teaser planted by the park for Cedar Point's next coaster has been spotted during the park's Winter Chill Out event.

If any park was gonna do it, it'd be Cedar Point wouldn't it!

Ahhhh haha, brilliant! I could see Cedar Point getting a T-Rex, although I am not sure if this makes it more or less likely.

That seems to imply footers are being installed next week? Looking forward to seeing this come to light. There's every potential for three components of a top ten coaster list to be sat side by side here; on the basis this isn't just an enthusiast leg puller, that is...
