Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion

I can see a screamin swing happening especially after the success of Finnigans Flyers at Williamsburg. So we're going to get two new rides in 2021 after all!

Is there any original timber left on it?!

Looks great though! Good addition to an already strong coaster lineup.

Now just get some more flats!!!

There isn't much. Apparently it used 25 % of Gwazi's original timber and 75% of the footers. I wouldn't say this is a full RMC transformation tbh as we've lost a lot of the original timber and a side of the track! However, the layout looks pretty good but a lot shorter than Steel Vengeance!

They gave up with Tiger the best part of a decade ago, so there's more Gwazi now than there was in the last few years of the old ride and all the time it sat there rotting.

Sure it'll be great, looking forward to going for a spin.

Seems to be the same for all original 2020 additions at SeaWorld parks. Didn't get finished last year, all could have opened this year but they've decided they won't get the return on investment that they want so delayed until 2022.

Not great when season passes were pushed towards the start of the year on the basis that you could use them to ride the new rides...!

The ride has been ready for at least 15 months now. It is becoming slightly tedious, and yes many bought 2021 passes which were advertised with the ride as opening in 2021 which isn’t great customer service.

They are saying anyone who bought a pass after a certain date in 2019 were it's expired when the rides opened will be able to visit to experience the coaster. (basically what the excellent BGW fans essay from a few weeks ago asked for).

Does seem mad though that it was testing in March 2020.

Then this year they even released the POV for the thing, probably showing the difference in opinion when it came to opening this ride from the park compared to the corporate ownership.

Busch Gardens have announced that Adventure Island will be receiving two new additions for the 2022 season.

The first is a new family-thrill slide called Rapids Racer, and the second is an overhaul and reopening of the existing Wahoo Run attraction into Wahoo Remix, with the addition of a new soundtrack, theming and lighting package. It has also been announced that Adventure Island will now move to year-round operations, whereas previously it was Early March-Late October.

In addition, it has been confirmed that pass members will be able to preview Iron Gwazi from February 2022 ahead of the official opening in March. I am so excited for this, I have seen it testing many a time and it looks absolutely insane.

So with Iron Gwazi, Rapids Racer, Wahoo Remix and the potential S&S Screaming Swing opening in the back half of the year, 2022 is going to be the biggest year for a long time at the Tampa complex.
