Should we be social distancing?

I agree with @pluk on this one. Sometimes through your job you will be less than 2m from others. It's not ideal but cannot be helped. However these interactions should be reduced where possible because each time you do it you increase the risk. At work there is probably little choice, but outside of work you are in full control. Nobody is saying you shouldn't socialise but you shouldn't really crowd together as if the virus doesn't exist.

Personally I see it as a 'work bubble' so it's not so bad being closer than 2m apart, given you do your job all in close proximity anyway.
This only makes sense if you're working with the same people on every shift. It's not a bubble if it changes regularly.

A few staff in restaurants have commented saying we shouldn't all be around the table and then when we tell them we work together and can't social distance in work then they still say that we are behaving inappropriately and should social distance and we have had a few other quite rude comments.
I am assuming that you are referring to UK restaurants here? They are saying that because it is the law and it is their legal obligation to enforce it on their premises. There's no such thing as a "work bubble" in the regulations. You are putting their business at risk of enforcement action so it's unsurprising they are unhappy.

I'm going ice skating on Sunday so it'll be interesting to see how they social distance there tbh! It's a good idea that's flawed in many ways as you'll have people who try and follow it, people who are distracted meaning they're unable to follow it or just people not wanting follow it or being unable because of a long line of shopper cutting across a pathway for example!

I went Food shopping last week and everyone over 11 had a mask on by its so hard to keep 1m Let alone 2m when you got couples looking at every item. People blocking food while the other puts items into the trolley stopping you getting the food behind them and no 1 way system in place so you got people going up and down the same path. I not been non essential shopping since January but I guess that’s even worst than food shopping.
