I'd be interested to know if there even was a 'launch' planned by marketers. A sentence buried somewhere in a statement maybe, but surely not spinning it as a positive thing and the basis of an announcement, with rides listed and/or having dedicated pages on the website.

They are rides at the park now so I don't see why they wouldn't. They're no worse than the blade or enterprise

Why does Enterprise get so much hate? I love that ride. You’re literally getting flung upside down in a cage

This obviously reeks of Towers desperately trying to fix issues of ride availability due to the poor strategic management of Merlin (and to be fair Towers themselves) over the last decade, but it is slightly ironic that in general the same geeks who long for “magic era” Towers forget that most of the park in those days was filled with fairground rides with no theming.

It’s sad that what was once a relatively major player on the world theme park stage is reduced to this, but it does seem with octoberfest last year and this flat ride plan this year that someone is trying to make a point about how theme parks should be run.

Let’s see if it makes an impact.

Must admit the Super Trooper doesn’t look overly bad but the tacky fairground feel isn’t for me - be nice if some temp theming was added in. I’m sure I’ll have a ride though, never done one but it looks quite fun!

also, whilst we’re on Enterprise - I actually do quite like it - I feel sick after but it’s very temporary and only lasts about 60 seconds - I love the feeling it offers whilst on ride though, especially when upside down!

Do you know what? I really don't mind this at all. I didn't even know about it until I came across a random comment on Instagram.

Sure, it's not gonna look the nicest, or most themed. But personally, after a few visits last season, and with all the queues due to covid, it'll be nice to get some new rides into the park to go on. They're not gonna be an upcharge, so that's a win. I don't have to go to the local funfair and put up with obnoxious chavs (not as many anyway) and it's the first flat rides that we've seen at Towers in years - hopefully with a view to some more permanent attractions in the not too distant future. I'm just glad they're not just dumping them on the lawns.

I say give it a chance.

From further research this PWR supertrooper is owned by Irvin leisure who tour funfairs in London. They are a very reputable family and put on a lot of popular events in London, so it is certainly interestingly to see their attractions further north. Nonetheless, it will be very helpful for them to get some business during challenging times. This also means I’m 99% sure these rides will not return after 2021, as they will want to get them back into the travelling circuit as soon as possible.

Given that the supertrooper is owned by Irvins, we can expect the other attractions to be owned by Irvin too:

Irvin’s Supreme Waltzer
Irvin’s Super Bounce Jump&Smile
Dodgems

They do not own a twister but could potentially be a lessee from John Groom who owns a twister and normally travels with them.

Another question I have is will these rides get any sort of theming to match the areas? Will they be allowed to play their own music or will they have to be silent or even given themed music? If the rides are allowed their own sound systems then we could hear pop music/jingles/mic work which would be very clashing with the parks theming.

I also wonder how queuelines will be set up for these attractions- will fastpasses be sold etc

I doubt that'll be necessary. These rides aren't going to get much more than a 30 min wait so no ones going to pay to skip such a short queue. Well I guess it depends how patient you are. Some rides like wicker man and smiler I just expect to queue so it doesn't bother me, whereas if I see a long queue for Oblivion or Nemesis I'm less likely to join the queue as I know I can go back later and it'll be quiet

I forgot to say yesterday, but Irvin also own a wave-swinger and a extreme (Tivoli remix). Given we’ve been told they are aiming for families, the extreme perhaps isn’t plausible. However, possibly the wave-swinger could be installed?

If there’s 3 more rides then we can assume it will be either waltzer/twister/jump&smile/dodgems/waveswinger.

Are we sure about the twister? Given that Irvin’s don’t directly own one I would have thought makes it a bit less likely although one does normally travel with them...

Here's a video of the actual one that's at Towers;

It's virtually brand new! :)
Plus if the cycle is that long at Towers I definitely won't be riding it. :p

I'm not generally a flat ride kind of person but I do think it's good they are adding more flats for those who enjoy them (even if they are temporary), plus they help to soak up queues and provide other things for people to do. I also think flat rides can sometimes be more interesting for bystanders to watch than rollercoasters.
