I understand the theory behind these new flat rides and the reasoning etc. But as hard as I try I can’t help but hate what is happening to the themed areas with these plonked around the park.

Yuck. Eugh. Bleugh. Ew. Etc.

Hopefully Leek Signs have been asked to make coverings for the fairground graphics , even if it’s a simple chevron pattern for the X Sector flat it will make such a difference
I'm pretty sure that's the Smashing Jump. Can't wait to ride it but it does look a bit out of place

Will be extremely disappointed if it does keep that fairground appearance upon opening! I know many have mentioned the general public wouldn’t pick up on these things as much as us enthusiasts, but surely leaving those tacky boards and coverings as they are would stand out like a sore thumb to anyone, yet alone enthusiasts...

It certainly wouldn't look very good that's for sure

I really like the Smiler but feel pretty uncomfortable calling it the flagship ride after what happened tbh. Still a great ride though.

The only ride at the park I think they'd dismantle when the time came and rebuild the exact same way would be Nemesis.

That shot is from outside the park isn't it? Could have already been covered up from the park's side for all we know.

It’s difficult to tell, I’m not sure if that is the abandoned Submission queue in the foreground or if it the Enterprise queue.

If it’s the former, then yes this would appear to be the back of the ride, if it’s the later it will be the guest facing view. The slight view of the sign towards the bottom makes me think it’s the front though.

It's a strange decision. Why not just install a themed flat? This just looks kinda tacky and would kill the X-Sector vibe imo.
It's not a strange decision at all in terms of £££, this is a quick and easy way to get tickets sold, I would not be surprised if we saw more than the usual discounted tickets this next season or so to go with it. Every little is needed to get people in to help recover from COVID.

Don't get me wrong, for a "theme park" it's look tacky as anything, but it's temporary and considering the circumstances I think one season like this is fair enough.

It's possible they could be using Submission's old queue for that ride.

That’s the submission queue line, it just needs a clean and it be good to use.

Also I hope they theme the rides a bit. I know at winter wonderland all the rides get winter theming, decorations, etc and usually all the usual signs and banners have Christmas versions done. So it would be fairly easy for leek signs to make new signage and banners for these temp rides.

Can confirm it is the Smashing Jump! :)

Will be interesting to see what Towers do about RAP on these rides, as funfair rides don't tend to be wheelchair accessible at all.

Because a themed permanent ride would have needed much more planning and notice.

They have a capped attendance due to Covid. There is no need to discount tickets for 2021.

I do hope they call in their beloved Leek Signs to stick up some temporary vinyl covers.

Waterpark opening hours are now up on the website and tickets for 2021 are available to buy.

No midweek closes which is good news, hours have gone back to pretty much how they were in 2019. 4pm close off peak week days, 6pm weekends and 8pm May half term and summer holidays.

When does it open? Is it 12th April along with the theme park, or are we looking at 17th May, what with it being indoors?
