Looks good. Long old way to lug plants back to your car though isn't it?
Yeah I was thinking about that. Maybe they'll get staff to bring purchases to a collection point on Towers Street, like they do for ride photos? Still a long distance to walk through, unless they use a vehicle.
Tis a really good idea and use of the conservatories though! :)

Anyone who says towers isn't as good as it used to be clearly likes entertainment and shows. That's the one thing they lack. However in terms of rides, it's the best lineup the park has had. And if you disagree with that, you must really like old styled rides
All those generalisations!
The place isn't as good as it used to be.
I don't like entertainment and shows.
I really don't like old styled rides.
I miss the flume and Black Hole.
Both fun, whole family rides, greatly missed.
The Haunted House was ten times better than the shed and guns it has become.
I hate fasttrack, there used to be none.
Rap gets abused terribly.
It wasn't a problem decades ago.
The gardens were well looked after, and you could walk another mile down the valley.
There used to be lots more to do if the queues got silly, the only big queues were for the last couple of new rides, most other queues were less than half an hour.
The quality and alternatives in food and drink have nosedived over the years.
I still enjoy going, but the overall experience is not as good as it was, the quality of the experience has fallen, and the number of attractions has shrunk.

At least the bored kids have only had to wait until 4pm between 2016 - 19 at the exit of 1.4mtr coasters for me and the Mrs.

An event calendar with actual substance to the events on it.
Some overdue TLC that I don't think any of us were expecting.
Flat rides that despite their appearance, will offer new experiences for the park and soak up queues.
The Gardens being utilised far more.
A long overdue kid's dark ride, despite the length.

I'm not one for optimism, but you can't say the park isn't trying this year.

Well it is their 41st Anniversary :D

While I agree that AT is not the same as it once was around the 90s (at least from what I hear ;)) I think currently we're in a transitionary sort of period wherein we'll see the park looking its best ever in the next few years.

Whilst in the past few years there has been a lot of focus on bigger and better world first thrill coasters, it seems now theyre broadening to more events and entertainment again, and trialling the introduction of flat rides with the funfair rides.

I think this year is going to be a very positive one for towers and it seems to me like the year thats going to turn it around and start lots of great changes. Its worth remembering that change and improvements all round can't happen all at once, so I'm choosing to stay positive and excited for the future :D

What I find interesting - and we'll probably never know the real answer - is that they are clearly going for drawing in guests who will not be going on a foreign holiday this year and having UK holidays (I hate the word 'staycation'!) or days out instead. And of course I don't blame them - this is a very sensible thing to do because clearly more people will be looking for things to do this summer in the UK. But if it wasn't for Covid, I wonder if we would've seen this level of investment in entertainment this season? Of course, this could've just been done off the back of the success of Oktoberfest and could also be just a continuation of the 40th anniversary celebrations that couldn't take place last year. I'm not criticising their intentions and reasons behind these events this year, just curious as to whether Covid has actually played a positive role in all this.

Very good point which I hadn't considered! While I now think it has definitely played a factor, I still this this is absolutely positive. After the terrible year we've all had, AT investing more to make the most of the summer we can now have this year is a great decision. Plus, the events of 2020 might have been the dip in success that towers really needed in order to kick into action to take some risks and make some positive changes

Possibly - plus businesses want to make the very most of any UK tourism this year to bring in some much needed revenue. I wonder if TreeTop Quest will reopen this year...

It is ironic that towers are focusing on events and entertainment when we're in a pandemic. Seems like a weird time to start introducing new events
