Out of interest, where did the park announce the new travelling rides for 2021, as I can’t find anything on their social media channels? Everyone’s saying that they’ve now been officially confirmed, but I can’t seem to find anything about them from the park themselves?

They haven't been mentioned on their social media sites yet, they were however mentioned in a press release about the new events.

It was announced in a press release this morning.

This season will also see the arrival of three retro-inspired, pop-up outdoor rides for guests to enjoy, providing a thrilling trip down memory lane. More details to be released soon.

Ah right; thanks guys! I wonder why the park has only mentioned 3, when there would appear to be 4 that have appeared on site? Do we think that one of them could end up being a permanent addition, or is it because the Twist is in TWoDW, and David Walliams wants it to be themed in with the area?

Or is it for a different reason entirely?

It's likely because David waliams doesn't open until May so they'll probs announce that ride closer to the time

Also 1000% there was a travelling ride packed away on the CBeebies Car Park by security. Couldn’t work out what it was though, it looked like a Waltzer unless that’s already been set up!

It sounded like work was being carried out on the waltzer today. Couldn't really make it out from the accessible areas of the Gardens, but you can just about make it out across the valley from the FV Skyride station.

Lots of rides testing today, so I can only assume staff training is in full force. Monorail, Skyride, Spinball, Get Set Go, Smiler and Rita. More TLC also taking place on Battle Galleons and staff cleaning/(painting?) boats.

The main ride that needs extensive running pre-season is Nemesis. Due to it being an inverted ride, when it rains the rust / gunk that has built up on the rails over the closed season dilutes and ends up on the riders clothing. I have seen people ride in light coloured tracksuits on opening day & come off looking notably orange. Nice cleaning bills for Towers there.

They did try to get round this by painting the "bare" bits of the rails where wheels make contact one closed season, but it wore off pretty fast.

Then there was the in-season day when Tech Services pumped so much grease into the bearings on one of the Nemesis trains that the G-forces of the ride were just sucking it out and riders were coming off covered - and I do mean covered - in grease. But that is a different story!

Some pics have been circulating for the past couple of days of Waltzers in Dark Forest, so that is likely what you saw.

I must admit, in spite of COVID, I’m feeling incredibly excited for this season compared to usual, for some reason!

I’m always really excited for the start of a new season, but for some reason, I’m particularly excited for the start of the 2021 season; I can sense it will be a great one!

EDIT: also, apprarently they're going to try and blend them into the area as best they can with official queue lines and signage.
Very exciting to hear!

I feel exactly the same. From everything we've heard so far I really think it's going to be a great year at towers and I'm really excited for the start of the season. Feels like lots of good news is coming all at once!

I'm getting annoyed with towers now. I asked 2 weeks ago when the bring a friend for £15 was being released and they said 'it's coming soon and here we are still with it not available

It's great to hear people enjoying the garden's, particularly pensioners. AT's stunning location is a great asset that's easily overlooked when you're trying to cram in as many rides as possible with 4pm looming.

With long opening hours pretty much all season, it'll be great to be able to slow down, sit down and have a proper meal and go for a walk soaking in the great surroundings. Normally it's grabbing a burger to go and taking the shortest possible route to the next shortest queue.

There now seems to be confirmation of the locations of the 4 temp ride locations (even though we've already seen 3)
Twister - TWoDW
Waltzer - Dark Forest (Ug Swinger site) - pictures of this one are apparently surfacing, albeit its the only one I haven't seen
Smashing Jump - X-Sector (Submission site)
Super Trooper - Forbidden Valley (Ripsaw site)

EDIT: also, apprarently they're going to try and blend them into the area as best they can with official queue lines and signage.
That’s good news but how are they going to make them look that dirty in such a short space of time?

Yeah, one of the main positives of all this events are minimal 4pm closing times! Probably minimal 5pm closing times as well. (maybe minimal 6pm too?) I can see it likely a nice spread of 7pm, 8pm and 9pm across all of the different events!

Just going to take a moment to appreciate that the canal has also been stripped of the weeds. The Gardens are looking fantastic at the moment, and it's great to see the Conservatories with actual plants in them!

Does anyone happen to know if that tree has been cut back over this closed season or was it like that last season too?

This is a pic I took in May 2019 from another angle but I think it’s the same tree. So it has been like that for a while.
