You're not paying for the ride, you're paying to skip the queue. If the queue was over an hour, I'd pay.
Yeah I paid for a Smiler Fast Track in it's opening year. The queue was stretching back half way towards Hex alongside the Towers. Well worth the £8 or whatever it was.

On the whole though, Fastrack is the worst thing ever to happen to Merlin parks.

Pay per ride would get rid of a lot of the queues!
Fasttrack is a pain but for some it is an economic reality...
I want a few hours at the park while it rains...happens quite often.
Due to dry up later, but if I want certain coasters, paying to queuejump makes sense, a single fasttrack would probably save me real money in not queueing, as I would get back to work a couple of hours sooner.

I wouldn't personally spend the money to skip an hour queue but I see why people would. I think it's expected to wait at least an hour for the more popular rides, like wicker man and the smiler. I would happily queue that if I was there all day. If I'm only there for a couple hours though, then it's find the smallest queues and get on as much as possible

I missed the days back in the early 2000's when all the major rides had free fast track. It worked really well when free and put everyone on a level playing field. Bring those days back I say.

Will never happen though.

@Ethan whereabouts have you seen this information regarding new fast track packages as I haven’t seen it pop up anywhere myself, just curious is all :)

Saw it on park in mutiny Bay. Lift hills and thrills also has an image of this showing the pricing and packages available so you can see it in his video on youtube

Fastrack packages are now available to purchase online as an up sell. Once you add day tickets to the basket it offers you the packages to purchase.

There were only ever 3 free Fast-track issuing points on-park at Towers;
1 in Forbidden Valley dedicated to Nemesis
1 in Forbidden Valley dedicated to Air
1 in X-Sector that could issue tickets for Oblivion, Black Hole or Submission. NB: the ride the machines would issue tickets for was set at the start of the day and could not be changed after that. In practice, 99% of the time it was Oblivion or Black Hole - with Oblivion being the far more prevalent choice due to it's high throughput capacity.

I know I was very sceptical at the start, but honestly I now just am pleased that it's 4 extra things to do that will break up the day a little bit!

I'd love to see a stage show or two taking place in-between all of the events that are planned for this year. I think it'd add a lot of value to people's days at the park.

Wasnt there supposed to be a twister in Walliams World too? Or is that not happening now?
