Ah fair enough. I think I was confused by the TS Facebook saying 3 new rides for this season.

The Placement of all 4 of these flats is spot on. Exactly where they should be. Just please cover the garish colours up with something temporary, even if it's just one colour to blend in with it's respective area.

Ah fair enough. I think I was confused by the TS Facebook saying 3 new rides for this season.

There's a smidgeon of confusion because despite four rides having been seen in the park, Alton Towers only announced they were adding three retro pop-up rides in the first press release that has mentioned them.

It is not clear therefore whether therefore only three of the rides are temporary, whether only three of the rides are opening at the start of the season or whether the Twist is being marketed differently since it is in The World of David Walliams. Or indeed whether it was just a typo on the part of the Towers.

I should imagine all will become clear when the park eventually announce the names and themes for the pop-up attractions.

Is it possible the park have actually purchased the Smashing Jump in X Sector ? The aerial photos looked as though the ride hardware has been painted plain white , and it’s set up appears more permanent with new paving compared to the other attractions

It's using Submission's old queue as well. Oh and didn't Towers only mention 3 rides in their press release? You could well be on to something maybe...

Didn't someone say that it was likely the fourth ride will open with TWoDW and so will probably be mentioned closer to when that opens properly?

The set up for the show on the stage looks very exciting! Really seems like it's going to be a great year for towers

It could do, but I was under the impression that the other two rides in the area will be open from April 12 and that it’s just GG that is opening on May 17 which would make sense to have the twister open on April 12. I’m not sure though I might be wrong

While all 4 rides have been seen in situ on site I suppose there's always a chance one of them has not made it through inspection / sign off and has or will be leaving again? Considering none of them will have been in use for over a year while the travelling circuit was closed down that's got to be a possibility.

Which of these new temporary rides will not make me sick? Waltzers I already know make me sick or very close to it, so I can't stand anything like that. Or, which is the least sick inducing of them?

I would say the Smashing Jump (Jumper Jumper) is the least intense of the 4. It's really fun as well. I'm the same; I'd never ride a Waltzer or Super Trooper and can just handle a Twist. I rode a Smashing Jump last year and really enjoyed it. :)
Obviously though it depends on how they're all run whilst at Towers.

I’m wondering the same thing, as I’ll admit that my experience with flat rides is not that great, and I also don’t seem to have the highest of spin/flip tolerances based on past experience.

The Smashing Jump looks like good fun, and not too dissimilar to something I once rode at a pop-up fair a few years back and rather enjoyed!

The Twist should be great fun based on the similar model at Folly Farm that I’ve ridden many times and really enjoyed!

I’m not too sure about the Waltzer, but I might be able to just about stomach it if it’s run on a very weak setting. I’ve never actually ridden a Waltzer before, so I couldn’t say for sure.

I’m not too sure on the Super Trooper either, as I’ve never ridden anything like it before.

For some idea of my spin tolerance/flat ride intensity tolerance, I was able to cope with Marauder’s Mayhem at Alton Towers and Samurai at Thorpe Park, but I legitimately thought I was going to throw up after Air Race at Drayton Manor, and Reverchon spinning mouse coasters can sometimes leave me a bit queasy if they’re particularly spinny; I couldn’t even walk in a straight line getting off of Ice Mountain at Winter Wonderland!

Anyone been able to book season pass tickets for July and august yet? Still showing as not available when I look
