During the construction of the CBeebies Hotel they opened up a show room on the right of Towers St between the Box Office and what will now be Guest Services.

I’m sure there are a few options for this space. But it would be nice to see a sort of park archive/museum in this area with old merchandise, ride plans, photos, history etc.

Efteling have something similar and it is a nice touch and doesn’t cost masses or need staffing etc.

What could they use the spare buildings in Towers Street for? I can only think of a variety of shops selling the same thing?
They could also turn some of them into smaller units selling local food or local arts and crafts. That way, Towers Street could remain open during closed season for winter tourists & locals to purchase things - bit like how garden centres have diversified over the years and sell other things - like arts and crafts.

There isn't really that many empty units, and they are used as offices (could you actually go inside for the CBeebies Hotel promotion?) Not sure its worth moving the office space inside to open up one additional shop unit.

Better would be for Alton Towers to buy stock from local businesses and just sell it in Towers Trading.

Having looked on streetview there are slightly more buildings between guest services and box office than I remembered, but I'm still not convinced there is the demand for shopping to make it worth converting them back to shops.

Used to have artisan glass blowers and potters on the park.
Chop down a few trees for a wood turners of Towers trees as well.
Even had a resident taxidermist at one time!
Stuff a squirrel corner...

Originally all the frontages on Towers Street where shops, restaurants or guest services. There was also a bank where the cash machines are now.

The building between guest services and box office is office space now, to be fair Towers do struggle for office space as a lot of Merlin admin is based there as well (I think most of the back office Merlin resort theme park staff are based at Towers).

On an unrelated note; is Flavio’s Fabulous Fandango going to be a permanent addition to TWoDW, or is it only staying for 2021 like the Retro Squad rides are? I was only wondering because the park doesn’t seem to have made any indication of it not being permanent.

I know that the installation video a few months back made it look quite temporary, but the park could well have themed it up since then, and made it look more permanent.

It's temporary just for this year.

Having being used for all kinds of things in the past like people have said there really could be anything in the towers street buildings to make the area seem more lively again, I was thinking along the lines of face painters they have around the park in stalls or more food outlets. But since the conservatory is now being used as a garden centre, it doesnt seem like the park is opposed to using its space for un-theme-park-related things, like it used to. But anyway, I didn't realise they were being used as office space so they're not empty after all.

I think the Talbot Street, Cloud Cuckoo Land old buildings are in more need of filling compared to Towers St.
And its attractions that are needed, not shops!

Will be funny looking on the queue times app and seeing it say:
Funk'n'fly 60 mins
The smiler 60 mins
Hmm now which one do I pick?

I'd probably go for Funk'n'Fly tbh, but give Nemesis a whirl on the way. My guess would that by the time you've been on Nemesis, whatever was going on with F'n'F will be clear and it'd be pretty much walk-on because people had been avoiding the area due to its bizarrely long queue... so two rides for one queue.

It's going to much such a good difference having actual options to mix up the day and hopefully get a good few more rides in.

Also, seems solo fastrack for Th13teen isn't available, according to the app. Thank god for that the less fastrack sold on it atm the better
