Agreed last scarefest I think the rap and ft was at an hour or was that the year before

Well there was no fastrack at all for it in 2020 so must've been 2019

Yeah it will have been 2019 as last year RAP used the Fastrack entrance on Thirteen. Great that they look to be continuing that this year, and I hope that when FT returns on Thirteen they'll keep ambulant RAP using it as well (Like Thorpe do for most of their major rides). :)

They may be reluctant to do that as their experiment with combined FT & RAP queues on Smiler resulted in unacceptable waiting times for FT users - having people pay £10 and still wait an hour doesn't go down well, apparently

I’m sorry can we analyse this picture for a second? This refurb looks awful, look at the rotted top edges, tacky star window stickers, 2D wrap around. Nothing matches, nothing screams modern. I’m sorry For a UK leading theme park this is c**p to be honest! Disappointed

Watching Airtime John's vlog from today and noticed in the background that they have fixed that top bit and repainted it. And added more shapes onto the windows on the building to the right.

Or:
The Smiler 70 mins
Boring patch of land where a ride used to be 0 mins
Closing time:4pm

That's a good point tbf. Better something there than nothing. I do imagine they'll be quite popular. They've been branded well

I have a feeling Mixtape will be quite popular, I'd imagine there will be quite a good proportion of guests who haven't done a Smashing Jump before. I've got to be honest, I'd never even seen the ride style before it was announced for here.

It's also in x sector. That speaks for itself

Possibly so - X Sector is my favourite area because The Smiler and Oblivion in my opinion are the two best rides on park.
I’d also imagine if one of the headline coasters in X Sector, Dark Forest or Forbidden Valley goes down the temporary flats queue in the respective area will suck some of the crowd in.

There's no doubt mixtape will get longer queues than Oblivion haha

Thanks for update, However I couldn’t locate the video or see any updated pictures?

We’ve got a new update from Sanbrooke a few days before the start of the season:

Things of note that he picks up on this time are that there is sound and audio testing taking place on the mysterious stage on Towers Street, as well as showing off some of the branding that Alton Towers has placed around Mixtape. There’s also more ride testing, and signs of temporary food stands being erected on the lawns.

The stage is intriguing me; is it known whether this will house some sort of show even outside of the events? I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I’ll admit that I’m not really that into shows at theme parks myself; I’m personally more interested in rides and theming. I do think that a show is a good addition, however, and it should hopefully be popular, and provide a good way to lower the ride queues!

I imagine the stage will be used for a Sir Algenon style show? The article linked earlier mentioned 'non stop entertainment' this year, and honestly with more entertainment, more events and new flats, this year is shaping up to be great, and the start of towers returning to how its remembered in its golden years. Obviously the temporary rides aren't ideal, but I'm positive they're a step into eventually getting permanent ones. So excited for this season!
