Quick Queries 2012

Non-ERT rides don't ever officially open before 10am though the ride queues may individually open their queues early. So, no. :)

Re: Quick Queries 2012

Anyone know the CD that they play in The Fried Chicken Co. building? Or is it a CD mixed by Alton Towers themselves?

Thanks in advance! :)

Re: Quick Queries 2012

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine it's put together by a department at Alton Towers. :)

Re: Quick Queries 2012

Here's a 'Quick Query' Do the monorail Trains travel faster in the evening when booting people out than they do in the morning when bringing people in? If so then whats the reason for this?

Ayeeee?

:) :)

Re: Quick Queries 2012

Im not 100% crofty, but I believe in a morning its due to help crowd control at the kiosks and also make a better impression. No-one wants to get off the monorail to massive queues to pay to get in.

Have you ever noticed that as you've paid the entrance plaza gets rather empty, hang around another min or two and you'll see the next monorail arrive.

Then in the evening its all about getting people out ASAP.

It could also be to do with the amounts of people needing to use the thing. In the mornings people are more spread out - as not everyone leaves at once. But at closing time, everybody is generally leaving within the same 45 minutes or so - which causes there to be a need for faster service.

I do think the monorail goes faster in the evening.

It was really noticeable going back to the carpark after Scarefest last year - I got really thrown around the carriage!

Don't judge me - I am a noob.... and I have never been to scarefest.
I'm asking more about Sub-Terra - what is a scaremaze?
Is it actually a maze?

People keep talking about rooms going dark too? That's my worst nightmare - I have dreadful night vision, I'm blind as a bat in rooms that other people wouldn't even turn the light on it. Should I avoid?
I have to say the updates to the ride that everyone keeps talking about are putting me right off... :-/
All it makes me think about is a horrendous nosebleed I had coming off a ghost train in Wales when I was a kid. They scared you off the train and out through a dark room and I couldn't see and walked straight into a wall (in my defence it was painted black), but everyone else could see well enough to avoid it. :-(

Welcome to the forums! :)

It may be worth taking a read through the Sub Terra topic to get a full understaing of the ride. The ride is pretty intense at momments even with reading through the topics and nowing what to expect but it is great fun! The maze part of the ride is litteraly just a straight walk with a zig zag or 'S' shape if you like at the end. Although the actors to get up close and personal they wont touch you.

Hope that helps!

Ok cheers - how dark is it?

Could you find your way through it if you were wearing sunglasses indoors during it? That's an equivalent to what my vision is like 8)

Its not that dark inside although whilst you drop the lights go out for a split second then all other lights come on etc.. its all programmed and alot of strobes are used throughout the ride so you can clearly see where your going.

The strobes make everything look like its in stop-motion, as though you see a quick image and then another image rather than continuous vision. It is a rather curious effect, not one I like but it really does add to the atmosphere.

Question...RE Fireworks and MAP

Just wondering if anyone could help me out.

Been to Scarefest numerous times, half term and christmas at AT, just wondering, do you have to pay for the fireworks if you have a MAP? Or is it included?

Re: Question...RE Fireworks and MAP

It's included with a MAP, as with the other events that are on.

If you go, I hope you have fun!

Actually yes you can use the restaraunts... Tst members have done so on meets in the past.
