Nice to see BPB front-and-centre on BBC Breakfast the other day, featuring The Big One and Ice Blast... They really don't want anybody to know about Icon, do they? Great news for marathon riders.

Anyhow, I hope BPB have a great season. The sun could be shining on them in many regards.

Have fun lads. If you can actually get in that is.

I have a suggestion for the park. How about free entry and pay per ride ? - Reckon that will solve it :)

Finally got my eTicket. Guest Services emailed it this morning. Great service from BPB, just hope I don’t have to chase it up every visit if it doesn’t come through after booking. Free beer & seafood for the over 40s in Crevettes later!

He did two full laps on Icon, with live reporting first time round!
Were we watching the same programme at Breakfast???

I’m pleased to report that the retracked portion of the Big One is apparently “glass smooth”, according to Scott from Pleasure Beach Experience:

Great to hear; the ending was probably the ride’s roughest section prior to this, so I think this is excellent news, personally!

This is a really stupid question but...i'm right in thinking ghost train, river caves etc will be closed at the moment?

on the BPB website its only saying this...

The following rides/attractions will not be open, due to an inability to maintain social distance. Impossible, Chinese Puzzle Maze, Thompson Carousel, Alpine Rally, Dodgems.

Superb...visiting my mum on sunday so thinking of visiting BPB first

Wouldn't be the same without the mrs and kids asking me why Charlie and the chocolate factory music is playing on Alice in wonderland

Any advice on the best place to park in Blackpool for the Pleasure Beach?

No interest in paying £18 or whatever it is for the official car park, and not good enough at parallel parking to squeeze into a free spot :tearsofjoy:

Willing to walk a bit but hoping there's somewhere closer than the town centre at a reasonable price.

@D4n Have you tried looking at Starr Gate? Last stop on the tram but isn't that far from the park to walk

Inland from the Beach...Windermere Road, off Lytham Rd, is one of dippys prime spots.
Very wide residential street, with easy parking on one side.
Five minutes walk from the casino if you march like a goon on the way to the coasters.

Well shakey...quite a tale.
Get there an hour early to meet dippy, sent to the Globe to get my pass, which I needed to get a wristband for ride access as I have no phone.
Thirty people in front of me, two staff, one card printer, puter/printer says no. Often.
No queue movement for ten minutes.
Cards being created at a rate of one every five minutes, I need food and loo, ...'spoons.
Quality swift service in spoons, wander round the South Pier, again swift covid details taken, spot nice new paint and carpet in the Laughing Donkey, very nice new toilets.
Back to the Beach an hour later, recognise half the people in the queue for passes from before.
Try talking my way past ambassadors and security...not a chance today mate, staff training.
Give up.
Spot one of the Crevettes staff, who passes on a message to dippy to meet me at the gates...meet up!
Back to the pier for beer and a chat, then back to the Globe...third time lucky.
Only a twenty minute queue this time, I need a pass and entry...no pass access as I can't get at my email, but they know me and give me a (rare!) wristband...sorted.
Printer dies while trying to print dippys pass..."Come back at 4:30 to sort out your passes"...
4pm...Globe closed.
Usual opening day fun.
The (eventual) rides and sunshine beer were lovely.
Would have been easier pole vaulting in.

So am I right in thinking that BPB have their indoor rides open, whereas Merlin parks (and perhaps others) have kept theirs closed?

Yes, although I think the argument being made by Pleasure Beach is that each "bubble" enters the building on their own, as the queue lines / stations are all outside.

This would obviously be a contrast to Hex (multiple groups of riders) and Duel (indoor queue line).
