[2019] Hotel Krønasår

Few months back in the Svalgurok thread there were some questions about the construction site underway between Hotel Kronasar and YULLBE. The booking site for the Hotel has let it slip the hotel is getting an extension.
Most notably it will include an outdoor heated pool to be added for 2022.

Excellent news and a much needed addition. For what was priced as EP’s most expensive hotel, to not have an accessible pool for those who didn’t want to drop €40 to visit Rulantica was a big hole in the lineup.

Great to see they’ve recognised this and are addressing it in relatively quick time.

Now, about that monorail…

Great news, it was the worse thing about stopping there, as we wanted to go to the pool after park close, and the only option was to get the bus to Bell Rock, of course wasting a lot of your time.

At the opening of Rulantica it was confirmed Kronasar is getting an extension for 2022 with new suites/rooms, the "sea" between Rulantica and the hotel will be extended and the new hotel outdoor heated swimming pool will be an Infinity Pool at the water's edge.

Updates on the Hotel extension. Seems the buildings for the new suites have reached their max height. Directly against the extension the Eatrenalin building already has it's roof in place.

You can also make out now the Infinity Pool and the extension of the lagoon between Rulantica and Kronasar.

This is coming along rather nicely! Do we know when it is expected to be finished? 2022 has been stated so I am guessing towards the end of the year is most likely.

I’m not sure I’d follow Europa’s expected opening dates too closely. Remember, Eatrenalin was supposed to be open last year.

It's odd because EP always used to be really hot on getting things done on time (compared to Phantasia and Efteling especially)!

I think Covid is a valid reason for current delays.

Arthur was definitely held up but I don't remember the others being a real issue.
Can Can took a while but in fairness they never set a solid date (only a rough "Summer" which it technically hit if you count Mid-September as still being summer).

Arthur and Ireland took longer than announced, but Pirates and Voletarium were on time, I think. Generally they tend to have ambitious time plans and fast construction, but when something unforeseen happens, they have to postpone.

On the subject of Hotel Krønasår, it is disappointing that Tre Krønen is only open Wednesday - Saturday this season. Has this always been the case, or is it a post-pandemic change?

It's been like that for some time. Is this just off peak?

Voletarium opened in June, whereas it was originally intended to open earlier (in May if memory serves). Pirates infamously had its opening date on the fence plastered over after its opening was pushed back.

It was off peak I was looking to book for, but noticed that it is also closed at this times in peak season. I guess Bubba Svens is able to cope at these times for hotel guests.

Ammolite has a similar opening pattern, so I guess the demand for high end food is perhaps lower earlier in the week. It does somewhat restrict food options at Kronasar if you’re there at these times though.

The new Kronasar pool looks to be close to opening after being filled with water.

Until early September there will be a jet ski show in the lagoon between the hotel and Rulantica.
