I think I might now know which sign you're referring to. Back at Scarefest 2017, when The Welcoming was under construction, the park said that "Mutiny Bay Courtyard are closed" on the sign shutting off the courtyard.
They also once said that the park was opening for the season on 25rd March.

Does the plaque in the Gangster Granny queue line calling Alton Towers a castle count?
They did that a good few scarefest back when they advertised as ride in the dark but also advertised the park closing before 7pm on the quiet week. They soon had to do a U-turn on the closing times to comply with ride in the dark advertisement

One of the retail managers at Chessington would always make embarrassing spelling and grammar mistakes when doing the signage for the shops. We never had the courage to tell him.

Not a typo as such as this book was written as intended. But here are a few snippets from 'The Enchanted Village', the short children's novel written by Jeanne Willis. It was published just 6 years ago in 2015, not very long ago at all. For those not familiar, it's the book that your children get with their stay at EV which tells the story of the of Enchanted Village.
Oh how poor little Eliza and Jack would have been disappointed on their next visit the very next season.....

Thankfully for them, I've written a new chapter for them to insert at the end of the book, detailing Eliza and Jack's return a couple of seasons later -
With magical memories of its opening ceremony, Eliza and Jack returned to the Tree Top quest, only to find it abandoned and Mr Tumbleton sat down propped up against a tree drinking Vodka out of a brown paper bag.
After a 45 minute monorail queue, they arrived in Cloud Cuckoo Land. At least they thought they'd arrived in Cloud Cuckoo Land. They were greeted by what looked like the Charlie and The Chocolate Factory ride, only it was now painted black and was adorned with an entrance to something called the 'Alton Towers Dungeons' with flaming torches and actors covered in fake blood accompanied by horror music playing in the vicinity. "Where's Twirling Toadstool?" asked Jack with a tear in his eye "I think I can see it stripped down to pieces behind that wooden fence with the Danger of Death signs on it" cried Eliza.
Once back in Mutiny Bay, Eliza and Jack found mum and dad sitting in an empty courtyard, the same place they found their parents joining in with the pirate show last time they visited. "What's wrong with dad?" asked Jack. "He's in a bit of a grump," replied mum, "after he didn't get at all wet on the rapids he walked all the way to Forbidden Valley to have a ride on Ripsaw only to find an inflatable upcharge attraction there instead".
Once back at their treehouse, Eliza and Jack could hear snoring from the little door. They knocked loudly and suddenly a small voice boomed out from behind the door "What did you wake me for!" exclaimed Mr Tumbleton, "You know us fable folk only venture out at night. It's the middle of the day!". Eliza and Jack looked at each other before responding "Yes we know Mr Tumbleton, it's just that they kicked us out of the park at 4pm!"

Are they not normally known as narrow roads? Never seen a warning sign anywhere in the UK saying "Thin Road". Have seen many saying "Narrow Road".

In fairness, missing a letter is quite an easy mistake to make!
Maybe they should type their text into a word processor such as Word which will highlight things it thinks are incorrect? Nothing to prevent another valid word being typed that won't be highlighted though, e.g. than instead of then.
They clearly need a "two sets of eyes" rule to review stuff before it goes to the printers / website / Leek Signs.

Yes mate, they did. I was being facetious. As far as I can see, it become a widespread technology in the 1970's, whilst both of us were mere twinkles in our mothers eyes.

Almost every sign they produce has some form of spelling, grammar or some other error on it, usually fixed a few days later when people comment on it on fb.
The fastrack sign for Rita states if it’s closed you need to use the exit located next to “Demon Pits”, they are of course talking about the HB game Demon Pots.
