2023: Merlin Magic Making Tease New UK Project

Can anyone make heads or tails of what this could be? The caption says it’s a new 2023 attraction for a U.K. park, could it be a show building for a WODW expansion ...

The new area and coaster at Chessington is planned for 2023 I think? Could be for that, coaster maintenance shed for example.

Edit, if you zoom in on the bottom right it looks like the Merlin logo next to the Chessington one.

Design work is now well underway for our next exciting project for one of our UK theme parks for 2023! What could it be? Watch this space!

Now you really can’t see much other than a tin shed (so yes could be any Merlin park) however if you zoom in to the bottom right of the plans, where the MMM logo is, it looks to be like there is also the Chessington logo there.

That’s a good spot ! But I don’t see that huge building being for the coaster. There appears to multiple guest facing doorways, its set over two floors, and there’s no opening for the coaster track .... the plot thickens

It does look like the Chessington logo but I can’t fathom how this would relate to the coaster project. If it’s a maintenance building it appears to have a lot of access points, is set over two stories, and doesn’t appear to have an opening for the actual coaster. My first thought was it looks like it could hold some kind of mad house (the two doors at the front suggest a ride system that has two sides) but I’m really quite lost

Surely it's the ride building for the coaster, if it's a boomerang it'll only need one opening and the doors at the other end will be for the queues. I'd have thought the door to the upper floor will just be the exit / queue from one side of the track to the other.

Where is the opening for the coaster ?

Looks like it could be the maintenance shed to me. There's a large opening on one side where the trains can enter/exit. The doors around the other side facilitate staff access. Maybe the upper floor for storage of spare parts or the plant room.

Looks like a P+L graph to me - going in the wrong direction...

I've moved this into a separate topic from the David Walliams one, as there is nothing to suggest this is related to that area or indeed Alton Towers.

I think we will see Chessington get some serious investment this decade, along with Thorpe
I would suspect this is in addition to the new coaster
