American Adventure Park

Previously unseen Britannia Park views hidden away in this listing:

Some of the shots have snow which means they were probably taken after the park had closed, probably winter 85/86.

One of the shots shows an embankment for fishermen which I have no memory of so much have been re-landscaped early on in Park Hall's ownership.

I have fond memories of the playground ('Fort Junior' according to the 1987 map) but I had no idea it was installed for Britannia Park.

I hope a generous soul with a nice scanner gets it.
Cracking find that,

I remember the remnants of the kids assault course stayed on park for a few seasons, it ran left to right and over the top of the new entrance tp finish near the twin looper

Yeah, I recall one entrance to it being at the back of the farm, where it joined on the back of that awful 'mall'. Same spot that later had the Helter Skelter and the Rockin' Tug for the last couple of seasons.

I think the area itself later became the theming graveyard. I wonder if subsidence hastened its demise, a similar (but much smaller) playground went up around the former railway station beside Fort St Laurence not long after it went so I doubt it was an insurance issue.

Did you win the auction Will?

Thats all that matters

Quiet fancy the log flume boat on there tbh but no where to store it lol

The moment DCC took possession and immediately began ripping out the hard infrastructure, most of which was perfectly serviceable, the dream was dead.

The less said about that bloody petition, the better!

It may be cut and paste architecture on a soulless, townless plot, but still. £352,995 for a 4 bed detached house makes me want to weep.

Hello from Essex.

The Harron Development (phase 1) is the long strip in the bottom right corner of the first picture (click thumbnails for larger versions). I'm not very good at matching it up to the map

RIP American Adventure

So this first development likely was the car park previously. The next let of residential to the left of this is the old karts and twin looper.

I think this is just on the old BMW track and inside the red line, above the old stand in the mexico land

It’s a nice afternoon for a 4.5 mile walk around the perimeter of the site from the family home… (sorry, as I’m posting from mobile they seem to have uploaded weirdly!)
