That’s the stupidity of it and why nobody really thought that one through.
I agree it’s not fair to do it before but it kind of leaves 4/5 weeks in limbo where everything is open but yet basically everyone could get buzzed and told to isolate.
So you have freedom day(revision 2)July 19th. With all the self isolation in effect until August 16th(and any other revisions)After that local councils will have control over shutting down business or telling you to wear masks again.
Sept 2021 we will still have schools self isolating and pushing for under 18s to get vaccinated.
Anyone who thinks it acceptable to give a child a vaccine that hasn’t been approved/cleared til 2023 is off their head or doesn’t have a child.
Children do get covid but are not likely to die!
Yes they may pass it on(show me the data) but it’s NOT the responsibility of our children to protect others! That’s unethical

Just had a positive test result back, decided to take a test due to having some minor symptoms the other day. These have now intensified and I feel awful! Banging head, terrible aches and shortness of breath is also scary at times. I’m 22, single jab, healthy (no underlying conditions) and quit smoking a while ago now, so it shows it can still cause some nasty symptoms for a younger person!

Hope you feel better soon. Out of interest what jab did you have and what symptoms?

Had the Pfizer, had no symptoms from the vaccine bar a dodgy arm. But got pretty much all the main symptoms currently apart from loss of smell or taste after testing positive.

Someone at work mum works in a big care home and she’s double jabbed but they still doing weekly testing and last week was the 3rd time she’s tested positive since testing began April last year and every time she had no symptoms.
Hope you feel better soon Connor98

My daughter won’t be getting it unless she specifically asks to get it.
Why take the risk when COVID is very unlikely to effect her badly.

And then there is ???? And so on,where does it end?
Children are not at risk to die from covid so there should be no reason they are pressured to get the vaccine to save others.

This won't be the first vaccine to do so. Rubella is harmless to children. Rubella vaccine is given to children to stop them spreading rubella to pregnant women which is harmful to the unborn babies

The sensitivity of the NHS Covid App is to be reviewed after concerns millions of people could be asked to isolate as restrictions ease whilst case numbers are high.
A good plan. At work at the moment, the number of staff we have self-isolating is sky-rocketing, down in large-part to the app. Self-isolation at work now is at a far higher level than at any other point during the pandemic, yet I only know of one member of staff who's actually tested positive (asymptomatic).

It's causing immense stress on the business, huge operational challenges, and bringing us to our knees, and at this moment in time it really only appears to be getting worse.

Apart from to literally save others as it’s well documented that children are carriers ?
Again, it’s unethical to expect children to have a vaccine for a virus that does not kill them.
A vaccine is to protect yourself. It’s not the responsibility of a child to protect the adult population

It’s too early to tell long term effects of vaccine(2023 approval date)not that I disagree with the roll out, I’ve had my jabs. But then again that’s was a risk versus benefit decision, I’m older and more vulnerable than a child.

Therefore I think it’s not justified to take the chance with a child that does not need it.

Maybe we will get a child variant before they go back in September , then risk/benefit would have to be assessed again by the parents

You’re literally so wrong that I honestly fail to see the point in trying to counter argument. The point of vaccines has been so well documented that to say a vaccine is to protect yourself is categorically incorrect and a completely ignorant view. Other vaccines are given to kids (remember they’re all modified each year too so are just as supposedly “untested” as this one)

Couldn’t disagree more with you. Fine it might not kill them but could leave them with serious health issues later in life. As a parent you have a responsibility to protect your child from harm not just now but later in life too. Might not kill them…. But leave their lungs affected and permanent scarred for the rest of their lives? That’s ok is it?

The vaccine is to protect everyone not just yourself. That’s why we have mass immunisations. It’s to protect everyone and to drive out the virus. It was thanks to vaccines we have Ivery low numbers of measles infections in kids, although that’s going back up now people are believing the YouTube doctors.

You have to remember that without our vaccination programme being so successful we'd almost certainly still be in a full March 2020-style lockdown right now.
