Energylandia (Poland): New Coasters

An interesting debate. Actually I think Alton Towers still has the edge on them there. Then again, I think Hyperion is a bit rubbish.

Abyssus looks great. Can't wait to go back.

Yeah Towers is right up there. Taken for granted by UK enthusiasts.

Personally rather ride some taller longer coasters though.

Out of interest what would your top 3 at Towers be?

Nemmy, Smiler and Blivy would be mine with Wicker Man just missing out.

Zadra, Hyperion and Abyssus is some top 3 though it can't be denied.

It looks like there should be a big pool of water in one of the areas but hasn't been filled yet?

Ride alone looks good though.

It looks really good with the theming in place. It does feel like there should be water in places, like others have said, but apart form that it looks good quality and very well done.

I really hope they add to this because it looks unfinished. What's with the exposed shed on the first launch? So much concrete left exposed throughout the layout...

As for the ride itself, the pacing looks to be a lot slower than that of Formula, which will help to distinguish the two. Not confident it'll make a dent on Lech either.

Hopefully a visit will be possible in the next few months.

It's a shame if they have opened it without filling the water in as that 's a big aspect of the ride if that indeed what they are still planning to do.

If they leave it like that it will be a bit of an anti climax which is a shame as the layout looks brilliant and the pacing is decent.

They seem to do everything in a hurry, there's no mystery to the whole thing. They release POVs after one successful lap when the surrounding area is still looking like a building site.

It's great to see so much investment but it all feels like tactics rather than strategy.

Totally agree. It's like they put a teenage coaster enthusiast in charge of the Strategy department.

There's supposed to be 10 rides or attractions in this new area alone. Crazy! They'd be better with half that and focusing on a real quality finish not a slap dash one.

Heading over to Poland to do Energylandia and Legendia at the end of August. A few questions for those that have been already. I'm not worried about Legendia, that place always looks quiet.
1 - What days are the quietest and the same over the weekend? I'll be there from Thursday afternoon until Tuesday morning?
2 - Do they do a purchased fastpass? I know they have the old Disney style free one to scan at the ride entrances?
3 - Do we need to have the GoPro checked for the rides at Guest Services or is it just accepted?

Darren

Regarding quietest days I can’t really comment for august but when I visited in late September last year it was walk on for almost every ride so we managed tones of re-rides, however I visited both on a weekday and a Saturday and the Saturday was only slightly busier.

regarding fast pass, they do have options for individual fast passes available at the park, however I don’t believe they do any packages that include multiple rides (this may have changed but I’m sure this was the case when I visited).

I can’t advise on the go-pro situation, however the parks social media team are usually very good with replying online in English so I’d recommend just dropping them a message regarding that. Enjoy your trip!

Abysuss is a bit disappointing tbh. The first launch makes no sense whatsoever, more of an Icon style gentle push and the second launch is ruined by the trims at the top of the following hill. It's certainly a good ride but not the Lech challenger we all wanted. I'd say personally:
Zadra
Hyperion
Abyssus
Formula

With Lech fitting between Hyperion and Zadra if we include coasters from Legendia. Word is the geezer who owns Energylandia is looking to build a second park near Warsaw.

Just got back from a week in Poland and finally getting to visit Energylandia (also visited Zatorland, Minitur land, and Legendia).

Really liked the park, the earlier zones of the park can be a bit of a maze to navigate and finding ride entrances (Dragon and Energus) can occasionally cause confusion.

But then they've had the logic of putting Speed and the rapids right next to the water park entrance.

The newer areas with Formula, and Hyperion showed how the park improved things for when they expanded on the other side of the road with Dragon Zone and Aqualantis which are both well thought out areas with plenty of rides for all the family alongside dining options.

Viking Coaster however is an obomination and the sooner it goes the better.

Whilst the parks 17 coaster line up is filled out with plenty of coasters for families and small children some of these are a lot of fun Boomerang and it's station fly through, Dragon and its surprisingly intense overbanked turn, and the new Light Explorer with its layout which makes it the most fun family boomerang I've done.

Formula is an great coaster with its compact layout fitting plenty in.

It's sibling Abyssus whilst not intense does have plenty of great moments, the bits going under the station being a highlight. Hopefully they get the themeing finished as there seemed to be the supports in place ready to create a few more near miss elements. Plus the whole thing needs more water.

Hyperion, wow, it's placement at the front entrance meant I'd usually do it lunch time and then last ride of the day. Just a stunningly good coaster, loved it on both front and back rows.

Zadra, double wow, my first experience of a ground up built RMC coaster. Built more for speed than Steel Vengeance it just flows so well. The stall is a thing of beauty and may well be my favourite element on a coaster.

So a successful first trip, will hopefully look to go back when Sweet Valley opens, that'll really help the new areas as it'll mean Aqualantis will no longer be a dead end.

Away from coasters if you're visiting the area for a good number of days I'd highly recommend visiting the Salt Mines.
And I think everyone should do the tour of Auscwitz.

Of course you got the Zatorland cred. Hope you enjoyed the dinosaurs.

The entrance with the ents at the start and then the rabbit warren around it is a bit of a mess I'll agree. They could do with relocating maybe the SBF Frutti Loops thing and giving more space and more, clearer signs.

I don't think the biggest problem is the number of signs pointimg into the park but more the lack of directions from back to front. 2 Brits and a Dutchman trying to find our way out while talking about coasters and everything else and there's no clear this way back signs. At least Zadra is signposted all the way

That was a lot of dinosaurs! Thankfully the one with the water effects missed me! The mad lake with Greek myths, and the weird bug area complete with a topsy turvy house as well!

Yeah navigating back could be a pain, in the first day going back towards the entrance along the right hand side we were convinced we'd hit a dead end as the only ride sign posted was Speed. But thankfully not.

We ended up at Hyperion because we missed that turn that looks like you'll end up in the restaurant and didn't know the back alley past the management offices. I'll agree coming past Speed is weird and wrong until you end up in the plaza and it's suddenly right.

We never got to the lake as we headed back to the front of Zator and the coaster was still closed as it was wet so we went to Energylandia.

WRT getting in to the park, I believe it's when me and @MattyH bumped into you @John_P and that awkward scramble around the ents. They've really built themselves into a corner funnelling everyone through the tight gaps and then either past the water park or past the fruit area. I agree they've made it much more logical as they've gone on but I am unsure what they can do about the actual entrance itself.

We lucked out as we went to miniatur land first, the only person around was the one operating the spinning coaster so we did that and looked at the excellent miniature village then explored the big castle. At Zatorland the Dino Coaster was testing when we arrived so explored the rest of the dinos and the lake, came back and a ride op let us on the coaster alongside plenty of others. Didn't think it was going to make it up the lift the first time.

We booked our salt mine tickets then for that evening so had lunch at Zatorland (a fantastic spaghetti bolognese) before seeing the bug area and heading off.

Had some luck with weather the whole trip actually.

Back on topic...

I noticed joravision have a very nice looking bit of concept art of Sweet Valley on display at IAAPA (spotted it on the ECC social feeds).

Can't work out if it'll be any good with the layout. I'm hoping it'll be something similar to Colorado Adventure but it seems tamer.

Flying thoughts from day one at Energylandia yesterday:

- Zadra does pretty much live up to the hype. It was my first ever RMC (250th cred) and it is sublime. Rode it six times yesterday and each time it was more and more intense, lots of hangtime and ejector airtime. Maybe a little bit too smooth if I was to complain about something, doesn't ride like a wooden coaster should at all, and the shinguards are ew. It's amazing though.

- Abyssus is ok. Decent theming. The second half rides a bit like Lech so that's pretty cool. The first half reminds me of Icon though, kind of meandering about pointlessly with a couple of weak launches. The trim break at the top of the top hat feels unnecessary.

- I've been quite harsh on Hyperion in the past. That's not changing much but it was a bit better than I remembered. The first drop, airtime hill and dive loop are all pretty good acfually... but after that it meanders around aimlessly. The most overrated coaster in history for me.

- They have a Halloween event which is pretty good. Pumpkins and spooky music feature around the park, although its a shame there will only be one night of late opening (Sarurday) during the event. They also have four scare mazes that I didn't see advertised anywhere until arriving, mainly making use of the street area outside Zadra. We did two today (Scary Loft and Obsessive House) and they are extremely intense and well themed, if a little short. We're saving the other two for Saturday. One of them (the family maze) makes use of the world's worst dark ride - Monster Attack - so I'm very intrigued to see how they pull that off. All mazes are free and roaming actors around the park lso help to make this feel like a whole park event. Very good.

- The front of the park is still mainly hideous and feels like a fairground. The tunnel connecting it to the back of the park is awkward and ugly. Once you reach the new themed areas though it is more akin to something that a medium tier theme park would build - I'm thinking Tornado Springs at Paultons in terms of quality. The park is still mainly naff but definitely improving.

- Usual complaint from me when going abroad that vegan food options are completely lacking. A real shame as my options in Katowice have been less tragic this time.

Overall a good first day, Legendia tomorrow followed by a return to Energylandia (also Zatorland) on Saturday for the late night Halloween event.
