Rare if I don't trust the place not to overcook it
Medium rare if I trust them sufficiently.

I've ordered Rare at Wetherspoons before and sent it back as it is grey all the way through, but normally ordering Rare gets you something with a little bit of pink.

This is quite a tough one because what is medium to some is not medium to others. I probably like it medium rare, but a bit closer to medium if that makes sense. Another interesting question might be what is your favourite cut of steak? I'm undecided because I like fillet, rib-eye and sirloin but would be hard pushed to pick a favourite.

Medium to medium rare all day long.

I have found this new butcher in Nuneaton, you pay a premium for the steaks but my god are they worth it. These things literally melt in your mouth.

My go to sides are a plate garnished with a crispy jacket, cottage cheese, Cesar salad with parmesan, scampi and a few mushrooms and garlic, covered in peppercorn sauce. Although the classic steak and chips will do if push comes to shove.

I have been experimenting with some seasons on my steaks recently, to great success. Louisiana cajun being the particular favourite.

I don't eat steak even though I do eat meat, but if I did it would have to be well done as I am very careful about food poisoning and will only eat food that is properly cooked.

Live a little, it is properly cooked even though it is semi raw in the middle, not to mention perfectly safe. Besides, it is good for your digestive system, helping it build up resilience.

Well done or medium-well. Based on my visit to Florida, I'd say the Americans have perfected the method of doing them well done but retaining juiciness, unless of course they are just deep fried...

Steak is however overrated and a lot of its popularity is driven by masculinity statements and proclamations of how men have it cooked, rather than its taste, I find.

Steak may be many things, but over rated is certainly not one of them. The right cut of beef, cooked right can be supremely delicious. Just.....unbelievable. A proper steak is for sure one of the highlights of the meat eating world, far from being overrated. It's high rating is quite rightly justified.

No, I was only joking. I prefer medium rare or rare myself. I echo Dan's comments on ordering one abroad though, it's always a bit of a gamble with how it will come out.
100% ordering one abroad you got to be careful. They seem to cook to a different metric then we do (with most things to be fair).
I ordered one in spain and that was a strange experience not sure they knew enough English to understand how I wanted it and rudely I speak very little spanish, got there in the end though. Any I divulge from the topic and I see you are a team member so I will now behave.
