Thirteen: General Discussion

I think something minor did happen, but it’s been exaggerated by the choice of words of the people on Twitter. Even the slightest shunt of two trains would cause a loud noise and a bit of hysteria from the ride hosts, and “the queue line being completely evacuated” probably just means that the ride was closed so people were asked to leave the queue. If it was more serious we’d know by now. It was probably just an unexpected rollback and the ride is probably closed to investigate the cause and to do some cosmetic repairs on the two trains.

Coaster cars hitting each other is not without drama, it shouldn't happen.

I hesitate to recount this story, however, on a staff night (not at Alton) we had an incident where two cars 'bumped' at 5 or maybe 6mph. I honestly can't describe how painful it was, had bruises for weeks.

Hopefully whatever happened was too bad and Thirteen can be open again soon! If it doesn't, it appears that Enterprise, Congo River Rapids and Thirteen are all closed because of issues.

I really hope it'll be up and running by Tuesday because the group of friends I'm going with love that ride and so do I tbh but I'm a little doubtful.

Well whatever happened it must’ve been minor because it’s now open.
Proof that the people on twitter were being just a bit over the top. They describe it like "Th13teen crashed into the train at speed with my back now broken and a dislocated wrist. Absolutely shocking how often this happens at towers it seems to be regular that people get injured or die"

To be fair this has been going on way before Twitter. There was always someone at school who knew someone who fell off a ride and died or a train derailing… when really all that happened was the buckle came undone.

I don't know where I heard it but I remember a kid saying one time on Oblivion the train they were on entered the maintenance shed rather than the station when the ride finished!!
