Thirteen: General Discussion

All you need to do nowadays is type something like this on twitter and boom instantly the rumour mill goes into overdrive...

"I CANT BELUEVE DA SMALLER CRASHED INTO NEMESIS N FELL INTO THEY LAKE. THE TOWERS ARE DESTROYED WHILE THE RIFE OPS LAUGHED"

Just because it's on twitter doesn't mean it's true.

I'm not sure the last few posts are entirely on-topic! It would be great if we could get back to talking about Thirteen, please.

(And I never thought I'd hear myself saying that...)

All they have to go off is the park statement I would say, given that they haven't quoted Twitter.

I don't know what happened, but I recall that they once called two of Spinball's cars coming together as 'nudging' one another. Whether or not this was truly accurate is another question.

I didn't ride Thirteen today, but it was closed when we went past on the skyride, was it open today ?
It was open when I was on park on 12th & 13th September, for what it’s worth. Based on my experience, it may just have been delayed in opening.

It was up and down a lot today, 2 times I went to ride it and it would close as I got to the queue line but atleast when I did get to it was walk on
Yes thirteen does seem to be having some reliability issues' this season. I know it's never been the most reliable but it's usually better than this. I missed out on it on my last trip due to it not opening until later in the day and then ending up with a massive queue. I presume the maintenance team must be short on staff such a shame as really it's these little things outside the parks control that's letting them down at the moment.

Park doesn't offer enough wages really, this is a knock on throughout the park. You can get an engineering maintenance job for better wages inside, Monday to Friday not in the middle of nowhere.

13 seems like a time bomb with the prototype systems. I hope it isn't but I could see something off the drop track writing it off at a youngish age

I would hazard a guess the very minor collision occurred due to wet weather, likewise the subsequent on/off closures. When I visited Tuesday the ride was down all morning and coincidentally reopened once the rain had stopped.

Perhaps as a result of this we will see Th13teen only operate in dry conditions, at least for the foreseeable future.

Staffordshire & dry weather.. might as well dismantle it & ship it to Nevada if that’s the case.

What has happened with the ops on Thirteen lately? Was on park Wednesday and Thursday and both days, while being on 3 trains, it was stacking all 3. Would complete the backwards section and have to wait for the mini ‘launch’ forward as the next train still hadn’t left the station. Have never seen it like that before.

See, Thirteen actually had pretty awesome operations when I was there on Monday; the throughput hit nearly 1,200pph during my admittedly very brief timing!
