Those Arrow/Vekoma MK1200 trains have a lot of room in them. I think I have mentioned before that I was told to take a wheeled suitcase on Rock n' Roller Coaster, mad really.
Why would you wheel a suitcase around the park?!
Couldn't you leave it in your room or a storage area? :tearsofjoy:

It was wheeled but counted as hand luggage on the budgets, that sort of size. I was staying at the DLP Golf hotel which is a bit of a trek from the park, but my train to Paris wasn't until noon or so. I decided to nip back to the park to buy some souvenirs and the like and RnRC (not much else at the Studios at that time), was a 5 minute wait so I indulged, with wheely suitcase.

Makes perfect sense to me! Especially the bit about loading up with souvenirs on the last day :D

I'm currently having a heated discussion with my mates about bags. We are both thinking about bringing small bum bags but need to be clear on whether we can wear them on the rides or not? Really don't want to have to take them off as it seems (from this thread) that different rides have different storage solution. I'll just be bringing, phone, power bank, keys, bank cards, lunch and water bottle but still, want to try and not have to take my bag off if possible and need to give my group of friends the best advice possible.

You will not be allowed to wear them on any of the coasters. Most other rides you'll need to stow them by your feet or under the seat.

I would wear something with zipped pockets for the phone, keys and bank cards, and take a small bag for the other items.

Yeah I've got zip pocket joggers for my phone, keys and cards which is why I was thinking of bringing a bum bag for the rest. Tempted to get a zip pocket jacket for the rest as this bags situation just seems like a hassle. I guess this is why they make the food so expensive because you can't easily carry around your own lunch.

I carry a rucksack with everything in, including my lunchbox. Better to have everything in one place, plus it's big and easy to spot so I know where it is after getting off rides. :)

You can carry lunch around, just put the bag in a locker or on the ride platform storage, for sandwiches and stuff that is plenty secure enough.

The prices are high for food becuase it is a captive market (you can't easily leave and go elsewhere), it is a remote location where delivery costs will be higher and because it is a theme park and they always overcharge.

So where does it go when you are on the ride? I haven't been in a few years and it seems like, from this thread, some rides have platform storage lockers and some don't?

All the rides have platform storage except Wicker Man that has a queue line baggage hold for free just before you see the pre-show at the end of the queue. You can leave bags in these and your lunch will be just fine. If you have zip pockets you can put your valuables in them.

I normally use zipped pockets/ lockers.

however on Wickerman today I was with toddlers so not really doing the big rides but went on wickerman and left my iphone 12 pro in the bag room which was fine, but sadly stuff does go missing from both platform storage/bag rooms from time to time.

safest place is the car/lockers on park

The only ride where you have to secure or remove glasses is Rita. Thirteen was the same for many years but they don't seem to care now.

Yes that is the case, I wear a strap on my glasses and Rita was the only one where the ride op signalled to the host who checked my harness to see if I had a strap. The 2nd time I went on it the host asked me then saw the strap as she was checking the harness.

All other coasters they either noticed the strap without asking or aren't bothered. But for my peace of mind, the strap stays on all day!!

When I got off Rita, I passed a guy talking to the exit host and I heard "no sir we can't as we'd have to shutdown the ride so you'll have to come back at the end of the day". Heard afterwards that he'd lost his phone while on it - I wonder if he was filming?

Rita, the one coaster on park that actually pushes your glasses more firmly on is the only one that you need to remove them on?
It appears so! But maybe they've had more glasses lost on there than any other coaster? Also, maybe it's the risk of them coming off and hitting the person in the seat behind?
