Nemesis: Sub-Terra

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this sign is new...

There has got to be something happening in the bulding, surely!

Probably just Scarefest prep.

Think that sign has been up all season, possibly years to be fair since it was used as a scaremaze. Pretty sure it’s not new.

Interesting… could this be a tease towards it reopening, or at very least, something happening with the space in 2022?

They are unlikely to tease the opening of an SBNO ride the previous seasons scarefest: They would an SW (Sanctuary etc) but not something that opened years ago.

Probably just using the costumes so they can have street performers in forbidden valley style attire.

I’m still fairly confident it will reopen

We have new owners now, and don’t know the operational budgets

It may well be they have been give them he budget to reopen this

To be fair it would make sense - low value investment whilst they figure out where tjeee future plans are

Never say never but it was expensive to run and had some considerable technical issues.

How many years running have we had this?
Every Scarefest since closure?
Six years going round in the same circle.
I am very confident it won't reopen, can't see new owners digging up a long dead flat that was staff intensive, and a bit crap.

You say that but if the ride hardware is still there (which it is isn’t it?) then surely it’s reasonable to suggest something could be done with the ride

But the current thunder is that a bloke dressed in old staff stock means the ride is probably about to reopen.
I don't think that is likely at all, possible, but not probable.

Some people are wayyy to arrogant to dismiss the rumours.
If it’s true that these are Alton Towers official actors or whatever, I’d love for someone to tell me the last time we had roaming actors (bar Ancestors) that aren’t related to a particular attraction or ride at the park that is currently operating.

Nothing wrong with people speculating, it’s obvious something will eventually be done to that building, it’s only a matter of time

Nothing wrong with people speculating, every opinion is sacred, and that is what the topic is here for.
But I still say cobblers.

It would be the subtlest/least effective 'tease' I've ever known from them if it was one. So subtle that you would only notice it if you knew what the Sub Terra costumes, last used however many years ago, looked like. That's got to be a pretty tiny amount of guests who could make the connection, leave alone those who would.

If it's anything more than just making use of something existing rather than buying something new, I'd be most surprised.

With Nemesis being re-tracked next year it makes sense to get it back open.

Can keep it open for when the Air tunnel is re-themed too.

Nemesis being re tracked? Wouldn’t count on it. I firmly believe that will be done at the same time SW9 is built. A bit of repurposing of FV.

On topic, it’s just the entertainment team using what they have costume wise I have no doubt about that...
but the rumours of reopening have come from somewhere

Hmm I am kinda getting some kind of teasing from that. All the other roaming actors seem to be related to the mazes, so it now makes me think it's a tease.

Video of the actors roaming around. Referencing a new organisation "IBF". Looks like a mix of Phalanx and some weird Oblivion X-Sector hybrid uniform.

We've got to remember that Alton Towers over the past few years has been recovering quite well after the tragedy of 2015, especially after Wickerman. I think considering it was removed for financial reasons as a result of the impact of 2015, it seems like a pretty good idea if the speculation of Nemesis being retracked very soon is true. Would make a decent filler for whilst Nemesis is down, or even hyping the return of Nemesis. Hope they go all out with the retrack of Nemesis and do a lot of new themeing.
