Nemesis: Sub-Terra

I liked many of the same aspects as you did, but the ride had no rerideability
I actually really liked the attraction (minus the pointless shouting at the start). It had great potential and gave me VIBES of Alien Encounter at WDW which is still one of my all time fav attractions. NST wasn't as good obviously but it definitely had part of its charm.

I also liked it for the Alien Encounter vibe and disliked it for the use of aggressive shouting in the place of suspense or ambience. Either way, the experience just didn't chime with the general public, and especially beyond it's first year.

It tried to do too much for me. It tried to be an actor led attraction, with a ride element and then with a mini scare maze added on for good measure.

It had everything it needed but it tried to do too much.

A great Pre Show just on a screen, ride section and then that's it. Unfortunately due to the ride design and the drop they wanted to make the 'escape' part of the experience too and it just never worked.

Watching the video back, the organisation the actors refer to is the "IPF" (they say "Stand aside please. The IPF will not tolerate disobedience.")

We do get some kind of marketing during scarefest, so if we are getting anything next year I would imagine something would go up this week, ready for the busy half term! If not then god knows what’s happening next season!

Well then, with the news of a certain ride getting her major overhaul announced, guess this thread can come back to life as to if there is a possible return for NST in some capacity with Nemesis likely to be out for next season and the need for a filler ride in place.

And to repeat from before, could they expand that ride area for something else to fit inside the building? If they could expand the showbuilding then who knows what they could put in the building, another tracked dark ride wouldn't be a bad thing or maybe this time make a complete clone of Alien Encounter this time without the drop towers.

I think they have to eventually do something with that area and possibly the building. But it won't be NST returning. It would make sense to do something to coincide with Nemesis reopening, but it won't be NST. We could see something happen in there, but then we could also see something replacing Blade or something on the Ripsaw site instead.

Honestly, I'd just like to see a new version of Ripsaw returning. Yes it's unlikely that'll happen but there are many guests when asked about flat rides at Alton Towers, the majority will say Ripsaw first and it's loss is still felt.

Maybe Merlin would cash in on the nostalgic element to announce the return of Ripsaw; almost every company in entertainment and media has done playing with the public with nostalgia and it wouldn't be unreasonable to think Merlin would jump on this bandwagon if it meant making money, can almost see them doing something regarding Nemesis' 30th anniversary such as vintage merchandise.

Regarding NST, if we are to see a ride in that building, it would likely be very different to what came before but the only concern what could you fit in that small space? If it was a dark ride then they'd have to extend the building though I wonder if that would be worth it.

Either way, to have four attractions in FV operating (not including Nemesis ofc) by the time Nemesis reopens for 2024 seems like a reasonable aim to achieve.

If at all possible it would absolutely make sense to try and get Sub-Terra up and running ahead of Nemesis being down for a prolonged period of time. I have no idea how feasible that is though.

Yeah if Nemesis is going to be shut for a year or so, it would definitely make sense to get Sub Terra back open to add a ride in the area, and I guess to promote Nemesis a bit.

Yeah the only operating rides would be The Blade and Galactica, so hopefully there are plans in place for the NST building and Ripsaw site before Nemesis closes in 2023.

Whilst I think it’s pretty obvious nemesis is getting retracked

it hasn’t officially been announced yet
