I'd love to see an Intamin Blitz like Velocicoaster for SW9 to replace Rita, but I'm not sure Towers would work with Intamin again after Th13teen's issues.

In fairness, Thirteen was 11 years ago, and a very different coaster to what any prospective Intamin Blitz would be. (Far more experimental, to say the least)

That might put Towers’ mind at ease regarding working with Intamin.

I don't hate it, I just feel that it doesn't fit in with the area and the space it takes up could be better utilised.
Yeah it's fine don't worry we all have different opinions I'm just surprised more people don't want to save it

Interesting as I thought Chessington were leaning towards families rather than thrill
The common rumour is that the ride will be some sort of family wing coaster from B&M. The ride has previously been referred to as a family thrill ride (in spite of a 1.4m height restriction) and Merlin are building numerous LEGOLAND parks in China with similar B&M family coasters, so I think that would make sense myself. I’ll admit that a B&M wing wouldn’t have been my personal choice for Chessington, nor my go to choice for a family thrill coaster, but I’ll reserve judgement on how it rides until Chessington’s ride opens in 2023.

There’s rumoured to be a pretty large-scale deal with B&M that Merlin now has at their disposal, with Chessington’s coaster and the Chinese LEGOLAND coasters said to have spawned this. With that in mind, could SW9 possibly be the park’s first B&M since Galactica?

It'd definitely be interesting to see some sort of family wing coaster

Alton Towers referencing it on social media is likely just a tease by the social media team who I imagine have no inside knowledge of coaster developments. However that doesn't mean they haven't been told to tease it as I suspect they've been told to tease upcoming attractions in the past.
As for intamin blitz- not entirely out of the question and I think it could work. We don't know what Merlin's relationship with Intamin is like as it is rumoured they also did work on Derren Brown ghost train so it might be a little strained. I imagine thirteen has little impact as it was a complicated prototype and merlin would have known that before buying it.
I think the current suspected area for SW9 is forbidden valley. Reasons for this include that John Wardley was spotted being toured around that area pointing and talking with high ups. Also we know this area has been considered in the past a few times as its a good spot and they must believe it is possible to get permission their with some compromises. I would take that rumour with a heavy pinch of salt as I nor anyone else has any inside knowledge as to where and what SW9 might be.

Sorry for double posting but Chessingtons coaster isn't really a rumour a planning application has been made all the details are in the chessington thread from about here where the speculation stops and the application goes in: https://towersstreet.com/talk/threads/chessington-world-of-adventures-resort.97/page-238
Secondly, I think most people just find Rita really average compared to the other coasters in the park and that a lot of us wouldn't mind seeing it go if it is replaced by a much better coaster. I don't think Rita will go for SW9 but I think it is very possible it will go for an SW down the line probably SW10 although this is just my personal speculation.

Fair enough i personally am a big fan of Rita however I can understand the mindset behind removing it

In terms of location could the lake (when you walk into the park) be used as part of the layout or would this be impractical?

Location wise there really isn't that much of the park they'll get permission or where there is the space. Realistically, the most obvious spot is in forbidden valley or the removal of Rita and the use of that space and possibly some of the woods for "run off track". They may also potentially be able to get permission in the area between Kataga Canyon and gloomy wood as they're has been rumours that they've had rides planned for that area before.

The park lacks decent airtime so I’d love to see a terrain hugging B&M hyper with lots of airtime hills. In terms of location, is it not beyond the realms of possibility to revisit the cross valley plans? Perhaps it could work if the bulk of the hardware was in DF and FV and the track actually in and around the valley was just runaway track, much like the restrictions placed on Thirteen.
