I beg they add something else for queue music for Mir than He's Been Waiting For The Storm. Looping and looping and looping it grinds a bit. Sounds great on the lift/in the station but it gets a bit much outside too

I agree it's a bit much outside. Especially in a 30 minute queue. They used to play it on Pumpkin Coaster, I think it's more for the fans than anything else.

Is a lack of hot water in toilets something that's normal? Most toilets we visited on park had a distinct lack of hot water. The most noticeable exception was in the Scandinavian area by Wodan. Seems strange especially with COVID and an increase in awareness about personal hygiene that there's a lack of hot water.

I've generally found it to be the other way around. Annoying on hot days when trying to find taps to refill a water bottle (because stuff paying €3 a bottle) and them all being hot/warm water.

You know, I just happen to stumble on a number of negative Trip Advisor EP reviews -- centred around the issue of smoking and vaping being allowed on most areas of the park.

I'm fairly sensitive to nicotine and cigarette smoke so, whilst not being an out and out deal breaker, it's a pretty big red flag to be honest.

Does anyone have any experience of this on EP site and at what times of the year?

I can't say it's an issue I have ever really encountered at Europa-Park, certainly no more than at any other theme park I have visited.

No, it’s nothing we’ve noticed as any worse than any other parks. In fact there are definitely parks where we’ve experienced that are worse for queue line smokers.

There are some smoking areas around the hotel bars for example, but these can be avoided.

Have to remember that the culture regarding smoking is often very different on the continent.

That said if that's literally the one problem you have with a park you need to get out more. See similar in 1 star reviews for Efteling.

Don't think i saw a single person smoking in queues during our 3 day visit. When being seated in hotel bars and eateries you get asked if you smoke or not

The current free FT works pretty well, albeit slightly glitchy with Euro Mir (always says it has slots when you fire it up but when you try to book it doesn't have any)

Smoking is a slow progress issue. I believe Buena Vista Club is now smoke free (when it's open).

I cannot wait for a full compliment of F&B again next year hopefully.

The number of food and beverage closures currently is, quite honestly, ghastly. The park is busier than it was in August yet today the following are closed:

- Spices
- Crocodile Bar
- Cmak
- Bodega
- Adventure Food Station
- Sports Bar
- O'Mackays (pub)
- Fjord Restaurant
- Walter's Wurst
- Casa Atlantica
- Bistro La Cigale
- Pastaria di Enzo
- Café Benedetto
- Molencafé
- The Baltic
- Fashion World Lounge
- Erdinger Beer Garden (Austria)
- Happiness Station (all)
- Bob Run Snack

...and more if you include kiosks. Queues for outlets that are open are long.

Reset for 2022 badly needed as it's just not the full EP like this. Major recruitment drive needed!

Wow, are they struggling to get guests through the turnstiles or is it a problem with staffing of finances? I guess it's harder for them to get guests from France and Switzerland right now.

It's definitely staffing shortages. Erdinger beer garden was open a couple of weeks ago I believe.
Yes, major staff shortage. Less open now than August but park as busy or fractionally busier.

Capacity in the park certainly not the usual 50k. Probably in the region of 25-30k. But even with those numbers, more would usually be open.

Eeek, that is a lot of closed food outlets and really not a good look. They can't be satisfied seeing the still new Fjord Restaurant shuttered.

Hopefully this gets sorted out for next year. You don't mind having a few smaller outlets closed on off-peak days but nothing like this.

I suspect it's similar problems to what happened in this country. Hospitality was significantly impacted during the pandemic with many places closed, and many staff moved to jobs that were still required such as retail. Once people are settled at a new job they're unlikely to return when the hospitality venues reopen.

Probably not helped by uncertainty around when they could open and with what restrictions either.
