Rarely a thread starter, but interested to understand people's current status with regards to Merlin Annual Pass, given the new pricing and pass levels and the first discounting on them.

I am still on the legacy Premium monthly payment option and not minded to cancel until I am forced to.

I'm on an old-school monthly premium.

Relatively few restrictions, cheaper than the current equivalent. I'm sticking with it unless the price changes substantially or they kick me out

I've never had a MAP but have had both Standard and Premium Alton Towers Season Passes. I'm thinking about asking my parents for a Platinum MAP for Christmas.

Got the old style monthly premium membership and like others have said. I aint going no where until they force me to cancel.

On the original run of memberships a few years ago. They informed me that they were cancelling and gave me the option of annual pass at renewal cost as well as 6 months free entry as a sweetener.

Its for this reason that I'm holding on with the original premium membership to see what they offer me when they try and move us over

Used to get a Premium MAP every year through Tesco ClubCard, but took a break from UK parks for a couple of years before switching to a Premium Towers season pass as I didn’t feel the urge to visit Chessington or Thorpe.

I’m now on monthly Platinum, if for nothing else to simply avoid having to worry about blackout dates and upcharges. It’s considerably more than the Gold offering, but I’m at the point where I’d sooner pay that bit extra for piece of mind knowing I can rock up when I like and it’ll get me in. This is technically the first time I’ve ever actually paid for a MAP (save the £40 Standard to Premium upgrade from the ClubCard voucher), but going monthly saves some of the bitter taste of the price increase I guess.

Premium just expired.

Will purchase an Alton Towers Gold (or whatever the expensive one is called) at the start of the first decent event next year - Oktoberfest or Mardi Gras if it comes back significantly improved.

Can't justify a Merlin at the new price as i've done Warwick to death and Chessington has been rubbish my last few visits. Thorpe is stagnant. Not bothered.

Towers I would miss too much though.

Haven't had one for a good few years now and don't intend to get one. I'm now a Sun Savers convert which gets me am annual visit and then if I fancy going again I'll fork out £30 for a Carex ticket.

Much prefer visiting parks abroad.

I've had a monthly premium pass since they were released in the initial sales of 2019, but cancelled a couple of weeks ago due to a horrendously unsociable work schedule for the foreseeable future. I only get Mondays off so if I have an urge to visit any parks next year I may buy a discovery pass but we'll have to see. :)

I put my money where my mouth was 3 seasons ago and got rid of my MAP altogether as I just couldn't carry on paying an increasing price for a decreasing quality product. I also realised that visiting LL, Chessington and Thorpe more than once every few years was becoming a chore rather than enjoyable so saw no need to pay to put myself through the ordeal of visiting those ghastly places until there's enough of a build up new stuff to make it worthwhile.

I used to have a Premium MAP (and had done for many years) and that expired in February 2020. Was evaluating my options, and then Covid happened so I did not renew.

Bought a new Platinum MAP in September this year. Yes it was expensive but I do not want to be dealing with blackout dates here and there.

I think the Gold MAP is very good value if they blackout dates are not likely to impact you.

Not to nitpick, but wasn't the new -- at the time -- Merlin Discovery Pass discounted to £69 [from £89] last year for a limited time?

I'm a bit ambivalent about passes to be honest. I've really splurged on attendance this year and unless I pace myself more appropriately, the novelty does wear thin pretty fast.

Having said that, I'll possibly go for the AT Gold Pass as that is the main attraction for me and I'm loathe to travel the horrendous M25 to get to Thorpe or Chessington.

I had a Merlin annual pass once but found that the only reason I was getting value was because I was going to places I probably wouldn't bother with more than once every few years.

That's not to say it's poor value, it isn't, but I just don't think it was really money saving for me.

That said, if I lived in the North West I would get a BPB pass in a heartbeat.

Premium Merlin Annual Pass. I renewed it last October so it'll expire in February next year. Probably move onto the gold merlin annual pass at that point.

I had Tussauds and the Merlin annual passes from around 2001 through to 2013ish but not been tempted for a while.
As a few people have said some parks felt more like a chore than enjoyment.
Towards the end of my time with a pass I got quite a bit of use when just wandering round London and popping into Sea Life or onto the Eye, therefore this year with the pre-booking would have been irritating.

On the Premium Merlin Membership, will be waiting for them to remove this level then I may consider Platinum, depends on the price.
