I'll admit I didn't think of that; maybe they could load from the exit like they do with Speedy Pass, especially if it were to be an upcharge as suggested by some?
Speedy pass and disabled enter via the load platform, not the exit. There's a separate door and lane in the station that runs past the main one.
Adding spinning car guests would just clog it even more.

I can only guess if it’s a added charge, they will use the speedy pass queue. Maybe they’ll remove speedy pass for normal icon for now and just have the spinning option only?
Couldn't they have both and charge for the spinning seats? Or is that queue area just too small to accommodate it?

The icon station is really small. I know they changed it about a bit the year after it opened, but you do feel really squashed on the platform with more than a couple of trains worth of people waiting to load. Not sure how they will then add any extra queue in to the area. The exit and exit walk way is also tiny so no way to add a queue line there.

Spinning seats have to be on the back row if they want to retain 4 seats on a unit, as it's the only position people won't be kicking the row behind.

Is there potential for punching a new main queue doorway a few metres earlier, to free up some space for 2 queues at the Speedy Pass merge? I think it needs a 2ft bridge across the "moat" to a new doorway. That seems a minor bit of engineering effort for somewhere like BPB, with a slightly shortened main queue to improve the station layout. Maybe you could even reuse the orphaned doorway to route through the new spinning seats queue?

Or they could go on the front row. And they already have a front row queue line.

Can't see them doing that though, the trains would look a bit odd.

What if the spinning seat is at the back but the front row queue was actually for the back row?
So they stop the trains one row back, fill up the train apart from the back row then move the train so the back row stops adjacent to the front row, then people get on the back row from what is currently the front row queue.

Tadar !!!

I think it was a 2020 addition, as far as I’m aware.
P.S. Sorry for double posting!
Ahh I see, I heard that the Big One had a front row added last year not not Icon. Surprised they managed to fit it in, given the station is the size of a shoe box. :p

Well, there's confirmation for you.

The UK’s first and only double-launch rollercoaster ICON is getting twisted this/next Summer with ENSŌ. In a first for Europe, ICON’s rear seats have been adapted so that riders can spin and twist freely during the ride’s existing thrilling duration.

ICON’s exhilarating high-speed accelerations, electrifying twists and turns and heart-stopping interactions will all be turned up to a whole new level by ENSŌ.

ICON launches riders with the same acceleration as a Formula One car, rising and swooping through numerous interactions with other rides before hitting a second launch which powers riders high above Blackpool Pleasure Beach. ENSŌ magnifies these thrills and creates a whole new experience for those who dare to get twisted.

ENSŌ is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning circle, or sometimes, circle of togetherness. It is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create, as the singular brushstroke allows for no modifications.

Like the symbol, it is named after, once you climb aboard the ride, clear your mind and allow your body to experience the intense, thrilling experiences of ENSŌ.

Dare to get twisted!
