Chessington World of Adventures Resort

It’s fairly normal tbh - digging up turf, or a few holes, prepping the site etc doesn’t require planning permission. So if the unlikely happened and it wasn’t granted (true they must have a certain level of confidence), then tools could be downed with no implications other than monetary

I would assume the planning team for the council have given a positive nod and there are no major objections.
I didn't think that the council were allowed to give any indication of the result before it's official... or am I wrong there?

They'll know the most likely outcome of the planning application. It would have had a specialised legal team drawing it up who'll know what they're doing. This isn't Steve the hotel secretary nipping down the local council office to fill out a form whilst the team back at the park sit next to the phone with their fingers crossed.

What does everyone make of this https://chessingtonbuzz.com/news/pirates-cove-refurb-for-2022? I personally hope this happens. Pirates Cove and Adventure Point currently have no border. Not only this but the area looks tired. I would love to see a new ride added. I am thinking could Rocky Express at Thorpe Park have closed to be moved Chessington. Rocky Express underwent a radical mechanical refurbishment last closed season. Rocky would fit perfectly into Pirates Cove. The trains on Rocky Express could be rethemed into boats and the Indian in the centre a sailor.
This relocation wouldn’t be the first that Chessington and Thorpe have done. Back in 2004 Thorpe transferred their Ferris Wheel Eclipse to Chessington. For people not familiar with Eclipse it was renamed to Peeking Hights at Chessington.

Seriously, what's the point in moving Rocky Express to Chessington when they already have Seastorm which is pretty much the same ride but with rotating boats?

Exactly. I would expect them to strip Rocky Express for parts and send them to Chessington for use on Seastorm.

@AT86 my logic behind this is that technically Rocky Express is newer than Seastorm. The ride is older but as it has all been replaced it is like Trig’s new broom. Secondly I was told last year that Seastorm and Scorpion Express would be leaving Chessington. Finally am I right in saying that Rocky Express is faster than Seastorm?

Sort of, but that doesn't justify a full replacement, they can just change parts as and when required as things break like they usually do.
Edit: I would be surprised to see either Seastorm or Scorpion Express go, this hasn't been discussed by the park and no building work has been spotted there.

It's not the first time The Same Park had identical rides, take Alton Towers. It had The Black Hole and The Beast at one point. Same Model I think, only difference was one was inside and the other wasn't. I wouldn't be Surprised if Chessington decides to put up Rocky Express just in a different area and named something different

Right, the idea that Chessington are going to get rocky express is a bit ridiculous for several reasons
1) They already have a incredibly similar ride.
2) Said similar ride is newer and has had lots of major work done. Probably more than Thorpe's one.
3) Why on earth would Chessington want a battered old ride that's been at the end of its life for quite a while and I was under the impression one of the reasons it was leaving Thorpe was because of its maintenance costs.

To me this rumour makes zero sense but stranger things have happened.

Another rumour is that Tomb Blaster is being reverted back to Terror Tomb

Can someone please answer this,is Rocky Express faster than Seastorm.
