Five/Ten/Fifteen year plan if you owned Alton?

Year 1: SW9
Year 2: SW10
Year 3: SW11:
Year 4: SW12
Year 5: SW13

.........

Year 6: Bankruptcy
Lol. I really don't see them doing that Benjsh:rolleyes::p
Step 1: Finish off the Walliams World theme by retheming the driving school, and reopening the theatre/ cinema.
Step 2: New water ride in Walliams area to replace Outta Control Building. Also more mist in Oblivion's tunnel as well a jet wash of all coasters. Fix the lights on Towers Street.
Step 3: General TLC and rip out the gun system on Duel to make it back to how it used to be. Revamp CRR and add another ride in Mutiny Bay.
Step 4: New flat rides to replace Ripsaw and Blade hopefully a Gyro Swing or something good. Bring back SRQ. Haunted Hollow TLC and also start selling Authentic Ride Parts
Step 5: Intamin Blitz or Mack Big Dipper or RMC comes in and replaces a certain ride. New accommodation in the Enchanted Village and another flat ride on Submission's memorial
Step 6: New ride in Cbeebies Land to replace Nina's Science Lab, hopefully a children's dark ride. Bring back the Peter Rabbit On Ice Show, and more general entertainment. Waterpark expansion as well would be brilliant.
Step 7: New rollercoaster on the site of the car park next to Galactica hopefully and use the Swiss Cottage in the Gardens to display the Towers History! New ride to replace Nemesis Sub-Terra/Project 42. Updates to Extraordinary Golf with a Wicker Man golf section added. New flat ride to replace that space between Dungeons and Carousel. Removed Dungeons and possible relocation of them.
Step 8: Hopefully a wing coaster or a new log flume like Chiapas at Phantasialand that's in Gloomy Woods.
Step 9: Bring back Chocolate Towers and make their events even bigger. Winter Openings would be cool like Chessington do and work on the Towers restoration.
Step 10: Work done to the Monorail and certain areas of the park that need sprucing up. Remove any SBNO attractions and replace them with rides that have long term futures.
This is what I hope will happen over the next 5 years. At least a few steps have to happen.

2021 the world of David Williams in 3D where we all feel like we in 1 of his new books.
Remove Spinball and sell to another UK Park
2022 big new area in CBeebies land which will have 2 more attractions based on the clangers and a big play area based on Swashbuckles maybe replace Nina attraction with Mister maker.
2023 sees the Rapids brought back to its former glory and work starts on SW9 and new pirate ship for the blade.
2024 new SW9 coaster opens on the land next to Air
2025 Breakdancer opens up on the former ripsaw site with a family flat ride opening up in the dark forest area.

I'm only an occasional visitor so my changes are based more on what I think a general member of the public might like to see changed. Personally I would like less new rides, especially the big ones in favour of fixing what they have currently.

Monorail: I've always wondered why you can't see out of the windows properly but since I have seen online how other monorails operate I now realise the windows are a minor problem. I think the monorail needs a complete overhaul. As the first thing a guest experiences before they enter the park, it's generally a very poor impression. I hate queuing at the start of a long day, so either they need to add another station or more trains. The whole station needs bulldozing, I hate the design of the ramps and the peeling paint and urgh... it's so depressing to be there for longer than a few minutes. It could be a much better experience.

Toilets: Generally never had much trouble (and I'm fussy about my bogs), usually clean if not wet from people trying to dry themselves on the hand dryers. I'd like to see more theming of the cubicle doors, like the ones by the entrance. Just a general spruce up would be nice and I don't think it would cost a lot. It would be good if each toilet block was themed to the area they are in.

Thirteen Queue: I would give the inside area of this a complete overhaul. Some plastic ivy and black material does not cut it for me. I love the outside section amongst the trees and I think they needed to make it feel more like you were underneath the tree when inside with roots hanging down or something. The cage with the buzzing sound and lights absolutely does my head in. It was alright the first time round, but now when it goes off when I'm nearby it just drives me completely mad.

Food: They need to invest in better areas to sit and eat. I miss the pasty place next to Mutiny Bay and the few other places around there because it meant you could have people from your party going to different eateries but you could sit together. The Burger Kitchen really is the only place with decent seating but you have to buy from food there to do so. I'd like a food court area like in the Trafford Centre or other big shopping malls. I also would bring back McDonald's or another big chain because the BK is a really poor food place in my opinion. Sometimes you just want something quick and hot, neither of those things have I ever had at BK. A proper dining place but reasonable as well is needed. I went to a place on Tower Street a few years ago (it was on a corner I think) that has been closed for a while now, and that was a really good place to eat with lots of proper food choices.

Duel: I don't mind having the guns but I did like it just as a haunted house. Whatever it is, it needs a LOT of work, you can see too many of the workings now. Needs a complete re-think, there is no story and there should be one not just random horror things, that would set it apart from other similar rides.

Ride shops: I'd like specific ride shops back, I miss the Thirteen shop, it had an atmosphere to it. I think the big rides should have space for their own merchandise and also stuff that is exclusive to that shop and you can't find it on Towers Street.

Gardens: Open the gardens for non-theme parks visitors. I'd love for the gardens themselves to be an attraction people would pay for, I can see a way you could close them off the guests of the park for a few hours a day so these other guests can walk around them in peace and well relative quiet.

Small rides: Love to see flat rides and smaller rides. They could really go to town on this. Same rides you get everywhere else maybe but with an AT towers. I'd love a Forbidden Valley themed carousel for example. Get rid of the cutesy horses and make them all black and grey with green and red eyes, and the music is like something from a broken music box.....

Opening hours: Definitely needs to be open longer. If it's due ti residents complaining it's about time there were some rules regarding local residents. If you move into the area after it's an established theme park, you can't complain about the noise. Any original residents that were there before it became to huge must surely be getting on a bit now... ... just have to wait.

And in your 5 year plan would Spinball be replaced by SW9? If so I'm sorry to say I think that area might be taken over by Cbeebies Land later on, so I can see the idea of an expansion working their better than SW9.

That's not what you quoted!

I think it's possible that the Spinball site could end up within Cbebbies but I am also skeptical that it makes sense to exponentially grow your kids area, the very nature of it means your target audience gets replaced pretty frequently.

I forgot to add that

Cbeebies land doesn't need expanding anymore. Its a pretty size already for a kids area really. All they need to do with it is replace the odd ride when required and keep it fresh.

When spinball finally goes I doubt we will see anything put there in its place. Its just such a random place in the park. Belongs to no themed land etc.

Apparently it belongs to Adventure Land which I think was formerly Kiddies Kingdom? Correct me if I'm wrong.

It is the new loading procedure that mainly slow the monorail down. Having to wait until a train is in the station and stationary before they can allow the queue to proceed. This massively cuts the throughput. The monorail used to be a throughput machine. It used to take approximately 10 minutes when queueing from the building entrance to getting on the monorail. Used to be a throughput machine. New trains and good refurb wouldn't go a miss too.

Didn't surprise me that was in there.
As for your other suggestions I think they'd all make the park a much better place. Think you'd be rather liked on here as an owener but under current ownership barely any of that has a chance of happening.
Then why is there a whole forum made for it?
From what I understand although I haven't been here long it's a bit of a running joke.

Really? I always thought I was a sucker for Old rides and would be hated as owner, since Alton Towers is about the new thing every few years. So, you'd actually liked The Return of Toyland Tours with new scenes?

Also, RMC in Galacticas Tunnel for 2022!!!

Yes I'm a big history buff and most people would enjoy it even if they never experienced it because it was undoubly considerably better than what's in there currently. Of course I don't like all the suggestions and I'd definitely have a nemesis reburb and with a retrack. I'd imagine the wheels get changed fairly often to be fair so that wouldn't make that much difference.

Confirmed!!!!!!???!!!!!

Maybe lol!!

The only real major thing on my list for me is Food Quality because they really need reworked, apart from the Doughnuts.

Whilst it’ll never happen, I’d love to be able to experience Toyland Tours again. Such an incredible amount of effort was put into the set design, automation and lighting. A vastly superior dark ride to GG. I do hope they see sense and get rid of The Dungeons sooner rather than later and turn the building back into a decent family dark ride.

I haven't got much hope if they do though, since it'll most likely just an IP. If Merlin actually come up with an original idea though, I'll be more than happy!!

Anyway, back onto the forums topic, what would you do if you owned the Park for 5 years? I'm interested to hear.

2022: Towers St Bar and grill open, a covered seating area in Fountain Square for picnickers, CRR refurb, 1 x permanent flat in X Sector
2023: New family dark ride in the dungeons, reopening of the 4D theatre in TWoDW, 1 permanent flat in Forbidden Valley, Swiss Cottage reopening as an Alton Towers archive attraction
2024: Permanent flat in Dark Forest, indoor flat in the Nickelodeon building, a couple of healthy subway / Leon style eateries. Nemesis reopens after a retrack in 2023
2025: SW9. Literally no idea what though - it’s anyones guess at the moment! A new themed area on Air’s car park seems like a good idea though with SW9 being an indoor coaster, unless approval is given for a cross valley coaster….
2026: After years of neglect and limping on, the monorail, Duel are given full overhauls
