Drayton Manor Park

If it was a coaster of any significance (e.g. by a manufacturer we have heard of) we would know by now. With all the trade shows, insider info etc, it would not be a secret.

Perhaps an SBF spinner??

Seriously though, I too have heard of the 3 ride deal with zamperla from a number of sources. A Nebulaz, disk-o and small Thomas ride are all mentioned.

@rob666 could the video Drayton has just posted be hinting at a Norwegian retheme of Pirate Adventure? I wouldn’t be surprised if Pirate Advertise is rethemed into a ride similar to Maelstrom that formally operated at EPCOT at Walt Disney World.
Mate there is no way anything is being done in the PA space next year. They simply don’t have the time to do anything like that, it’s considerably more difficult to build rides indoors. Especially when the building has already been built.

Isn't the disc-o supposed to be going in Adventure Cove? Maybe the other two are going there too in the next phase?

I am sure i read somewhere the plan is likely 3 new flats next year, which could be two in this new area and 1 for Thomasland (possibly the small t-cup ride originally planned for 2020). Don't expect a coaster in 2022. Then a new family thrill coaster for 2023 using space from pandemonium and surrounding area (possible apocalypse site as well, there are markings spread all around this area, possibly for planning/surveying reasons.

Yeah that sounds much more likely to me. I think that makes a lot of sense. By that time the flat ride line-up will be really good in the park and the park will be ready for a big new investment. A family thrill coaster should really draw people back to the park so I think waiting until 2023 is a smart decision.

They could remove the Zoo but they can’t replace it with any outdoor attractions as it’s to close to the housing estates. The zoo up to the early 90’s was the main draw as Back then it was classed as a Amusement park with only the log flume and buffalo as there’s only fixed attractions. To they decided to take on Alton Towers and the American Adventure with added more fixed rides.

I'm aware of all of that, but the zoo part is third rate, very sad looking and needs something doing with it.
Turn it into a petting zoo, or parkland with a few indoor rides, but they need to get rid of the sad animals in cages.

The Bryan’s had big plans for the zoo but speaking to zoo staff all theses have been postponed or Cancelled as they see the theme park as the main attraction unless you are a pass holder and have time to walk round the zoo. They always adding new animals into the reptile house and they currently adding new smaller enclosures around the zoo.

A major issue at present is that the zoo feels nothing short of cruel. Not something I like to support.

I would feel more inclined to visit if it literally wasn't there and I'm sure many other visitors have felt the same.

That's a very sad state of affairs.

I did think Drayton Manor zoo was bad to I went to Dudley Zoo 5 years ago and that place made Drayton zoo look a palace. On the other hand the 2 best zoo’s I ever visited was Jersey zoo and Chester zoo.
Maybe they could remove the rides from the Safari park and open that section up as a Zoo.

Chester zoo is a good one yes

More info from Coaster Chall on Draytons 2022 expansion, it does seem he has a legit inside source as nearly everything he has revealed from his inside source so far seems to have been pretty accurate:

Who else would like Pirate Adventure to reopen with a Nordic retheme? I think this is very likely. Throughout the last season work was seen inside the building that houses Pirate Adventure. The doors were often open and maintenance workers in the ride.

Sorry to double post.but I have another thought. As Thorpe Park have closed Rocky Express, which is obviously Train themed,I reckon Drayton have bought it. As you all know Drayton is home to Thomas Land. Prior to last year's toilet fire a new ride was planned. The ride was going to be a Tea-Cup ride. This was long before Thorpe decommissioned Rocky Express. With Thorpe "supposedly" selling Rocky Express it would be logical for Drayton to purchase it. Rocky Express has recently undergone a refurbishment and is Train Themed. Drayton could easily retheme Rocky Express and Pirate Adventure this way the Park would have too new rides for next season.

Not going to happen for reasons already discussed loads of times. Also they simply don't have the time to be able to do something like that by next year unless they started mid-seasson there is no indication they did so it makes it even less likely. Pirates Adventure cannot come back!

I very much doubt Merlin have sold rocky express, if it is going to be reused it'll be put in one of the other Merlin parks. Rocky Express is very old and I imagine it's likely it will be scraped but we may well see it turn up at one of Merlin's parks within the next few years.

I have no idea if the above you tuber sources are accurate but what is mentioned certainly sounds plausible and has been the rumoured plans in other places.

The new rumoured rides would suit the park with two family thrill rides and a new kids track ride and retheme of the buffalo, the rumoured Viking Village theme I also like this theme for the park. As for the 2023 rumoured coaster would be interesting if they did go with a Gerstlauer family coaster like Firechaser express at Dollywood, with forwards, backwards and launch section. Again fitting the family thrill market, although they already have the Vekoma boomerang in the same area with the backwards section.

Its great to see the looping group investing in the park, and bringing areas back up to standard and adding new additions. They seem to be focused on the areas that need the the most work first. if these plans turn out correct and a coaster in 2023, I could then see them looking at the other part of arial park (the haunting, accelerator area) and then the pirate area and something new inside the pirate adventure building for 2024 and 2025 as part of their 5 year plan. A few years back I did hear the park wanted a Thomas dark ride, that could potential use part of the building, with an entrance in the Thomas land area.

Plus drayton already have the Jolly Buccaneer, similar kind of ride as Rocky express.
